  • Some good stuff in there. Nice to see that much work, from such a small team.

  • Okay. I can already do that in the normal client app. But this client looks really nice and I'm glad it's a thing. :)

  • How quick and useful is the interface compared to the regular Jellyfin app when playing music? I currently use the regular client, since I already have it installed for video content.

  • This is also what I use. It ticks all of OPs boxes, but it might be overkill if you just want notes.

  • It's currently in Arch Testing.

  • There are Calendar, Time and Time Pattern triggers for automations. See if they fit.

  • Set up the regular Nextcloud install, instead of the AIO. The AIO is not required for any of the things you need, so you end up with lots of stuff you are not gonna touch.

    I use Nextcloud with:

    • Calendar
    • Contacts
    • Cookbook
    • Notes
    • Tasks
    • Polls

Tasks can work together with the Tasks.org Android client and there are seperate apps for Notes and Cookbook, while Calendar and Contacts can integrate with your mobile apps via DavX5 using CalDav.

  • Mine is around 10W average.

    It runs:

    • Websites
    • my blog
    • Jellyfin
    • Home assistant
    • Nextcloud

    And a few other things.

  • If you just need an online office suite, you can go for Collabora Office. It has some nice integrations, collaborative editing etc. Not sure about an iPad app...

  • I can't see anything wrong with that. Unless a cli application uses the same shortcut for something.

  • That's cool.

I might give this a try on my Plasma 6 desktop when the time comes.

  • Can you give the output of lsblk, so we get an idea about what those partitions may be?

  • silly me, I changed HDMI cable and it detected all possible audio outputs including PCM 7.1

Sometimes the solution is simply to replace broken hardware. It's not always our first thought, although in many cases it should be. ;)

  • If you don't need to access them through a web browser, I would likely suggest SyncThing, like @GravitySpoiled@lemmy.ml did in another comment. Nextcloud would be way overkill for this usecase.

Git would require you to manually commit and pull any changes you make.

  • They didn't mention what the story is for, so I am free to speculate. Maybe a raspberry pi is all they have available for such tasks. It could also be for articles or blog posts.

  • This sounds suspiciously like "I want AI to write my school essay" to me.

  • Mastodon uses the ActivityPub protocol and so do a lot of other applications. Friendica is one that might suit your needs.

  • I use what the DE usually provides, which is Konsole in Plasma. I don't need fancy stuff as I only do basic stuff in the terminal.

  • Would be even better if colleges supported web standards in general, instead of just Chrome...

  • It's part of the "focus" workflow. Having app indicators might distract you from your current task, so they don't want them.
