  • There are companies that make you watch anti union propaganda as part of orientation. They also pay tons of money to bust up any attempts at unionization. The disinformation thats pushed put about unions is baffling. Anything from its communism to the unions steal your money. Its not super surprising to me at this point.

On the flip side all the wealthy actors are union... Says a thing or two...

  • If your in the US you can tell them you'll report them to the FTC and fcc as unsolicited spam text messages that have no means to opt out. They must provide a means to stop receiving text messages per can spam act. If they refuse you report them and then they face 50k in fines per message. You also get to have federal record at least that you didn't want the text messages. You could also file a police report. The cops may roll their eyes, but just tell them you just want something on record that the former number owner waa a shady character and want to avoid any potential legal issues in the future for having their number and getting weird calls or texts.

  • Yeah same experience for me. I assumed it was an issue with the routing table, but manually updating it didn't seem to help. I assumed I was just not good enough at networking on android. I'd believe google would try to crap on that too though.

  • I want a filament dryer, but I'm too cheap, and don't use my printer enough. :(

I want to start using it again, but I've been struggling to get the motivation to recalibrate and figure out all the optimal settings again.

  • Or just toss it in the oven at a low temp for an hour or so. I've also turn my bed temp up high and put a spool on it with a box over it. Just cut some small holes in the too to allow humid air to come out. After an hour or so should be good to go. Assuming the issue is moist filament.

  • Apparently proton pass has a custom domain function I was unaware of until now. Looks like you have to go into settings > aliases. There is an 'add custom domain' button, assuming you need the domain added to your proton account with a catchall address maybe?

  • 100% this! Proton pass is convenient, but their email forwarding locks you into their ecosystem, and they limit your aliasing for your own custom domain. I started using it, and its nice, but I wish I knew about annonaddy before. I'd prefer making aliases using a custom domain so if i have to respond with a forwarded alias I can manage a way to reply from it, plus if I ever decide to leave proton, its not a road block. Sure you can usually change email addresses on sites, but may end up being a ton of work depending how many aliases you have, and how annoying the site makes it.

  • Try USB 2 ports using a USB 2 drive, and try different ports. Ive seen issues where I had a perfectly good drive and it wouldnt boot at all. Using a different port it installed fine. Similar issues using USB 3 drive or ports in machines only a few years old.

  • Live usbs are great, but ive 100% had issues after install before on several distros. Arch of course being the worst. Live distros boots, install, boot loop... But that happened on popos too. Ive also seen other more minor issues like Bluetooth stops working after install despite it being a base install. Like literally install, reboot, and Bluetooth no longer works. Given this is on newer hardware, but it can be hella frustrating to go from a live boot that works to a fresh install that doesn't match the experience.

  • I don't think anyone is blaming volunteers. More so stating the obvious. If you're new to Linux, you cant be expected to know everything about it. You may not know that some hardware may not work well with Linux. You may not know secure boot sux with linux. You may not know arch is not the best intro to Linux but because arch based distros are recommended frequently for gaming you may try it first. Linux can have a steep learning curve, expecting everyone to RTFM and all the forum posts is unreasonable. Sometimes people just need to try and experience pain and frustration.
