We owned and went back to renting. Home ownership sucks. Taxes, maintenance, the stress of finding contractors who couldn't care less about you, Saturdays at the Home Depot, being trapped under the weight of a mortgage for 10+ years before you even see a mild positive increase in your equity...it's a joke. And if you want to move? Forget it. You're stuck.

You're not playing Lemmy correctly. The highest rated post must always be a half-hearted pessimistic lazy criticism of whatever new technology is being described.

That's what caught my eye too. I rarely, if ever, respond to someone who's responded to a comment I've made, especially if they're arguing or trying to correct me. And that's if I've even bothered to go back and check it.

What's so amusing, in a sickening, depressing way, is how West Virginia markets itself as a vast and beautiful natural utopian playground for the rich retirees out of northern Virginia and DC. Go just a bit deeper west and south into that state and it looks like the hellish barren embodiment of greed and evil.

I wish these assholes would just come out and tell the truth: they need you in the office to justify their multi-decade office leases that they can't get out of.

Kind of strange that the top comments in this thread are referring to the fantasy of a single-income household, as if surviving on one income would make an oppressed, confined, lonely, mothers-little-helper-addicted wife acceptable.

Maybe you biked in the car lane, which is fine, but that doesn't mean those of us in the bike lane don't have to deal with this constant danger.
