  • The only hoops are

    1. Try to install APK, popup appears
    2. Press "go to settings" or whatever
    3. Enable toggle
    4. Possibly try to install APK again if the installation prompt doesn't automatically appear
  • Yeah that's true. I've honestly got no idea for a balance between the two or if there even should be any changes made

  • Why the fuck is it legal to sue someone because they assisted the courts? I feel like they should have legal protection unless they massively fucked up

  • Most of those are optional lol The only ones that aren't are the network ones, and after looking at the source code, it's mostly used for error messages

  • That's probably just the marketing reason. The realistic reason is probably that they want to sell you their brand of wireless earbuds that need to be replaced in a few years tops

  • I'm sorry that I'm apparently not getting my point across to you

Proprietary software is often made by a corporation, who pays full-time developers. Those full-time developers are given a salary to work on that software. That salary is normally more than what open-source devs make off their software. The team who is paid to work full-time on the software will patch issues faster (theoretically)

I bet you'll find something wrong with this, but I don't care

  • I mean, they didn't though Theoretically, well-funded teams would be able to create more secure software and fix vulnerabilities faster than some random guy who works a full-time job and codes in his free time

  • I think they mean that a lot of proprietary software (supposedly) has a large (or at least well-founded) team working on it

  • Same energy as "no offense, but..." or, more extremely, "not to be racist, but..."

  • They're pretty well enabling genocide, which is more or less similar to committing genocide for most people.

  • shit take tbh

the only way to get shit done in this fucked up society is to cause disruptions. Otherwise, people will turn a blind eye

  • Probably something about either how it affects them directly so that protest is bad. Also possibly about shipping

  • Yeah it is understandable that you would understand it that way. Unfortunately, that's not really what her whole stance is. She goes beyond that and tells the people that protections for all trans people (trans women in particular) should be rolled back. Take, for instance, her stance on trans women in prisons. She says all trans women should be put in mens' prisons. However, many trans women who are put in mens' prisons are often sexually abused (source will come if I remember)

All in all, she is a raging transphobe and is buddies with even homophobic figures. I personally find this list of her transphobia quite damning.

  • omg you're reaching so hard over this entire comment section. just stop, it's quite frankly embarrassing

  • If it helps, I'm pretty sure the devs are in the process of rewriting the UI on a private repo. Idk if there's any eta or progress chart

  • I use Gboard as a keyboard and it's got an undo button. Maybe try that (your mileage may vary)

  • I've seen people go out of their way to use it on Linux

  • I doubt the teacher really believed this, and they were likely striving to just open their students' minds to the idea that most innovations are probably assumed to be made by men

  • My one piece of advice for if you ever end up switching to Linux is to not use an Arch-based distro. I'm sure there's one that requires no tinkering, but every Arch distro I've used required me to tinker

  • something something meat industry is incredibly fucked up. Honestly never heard it as an attack against "pro-lifers"
