I've heard differing experiences lately. It seems dependent on how old you card is and if it's supported by Nvidia I guess

I'm using bazzite, so I've had absolutely no issues (note that I have an Intel iGPU bc shitty laptop)

btw did you know I use Linux :p

Yeah I mostly said that because some distros have different difficulty getting them last I checked, but the wording was unclear to say the least

I use bazzite, and it admittedly isn't the best for out-of-the-box development work because of it being atomic

You can just make a container for your development, but I'd rather not (I just layer packages atm and I'm working on making my own image based on it that has the stuff I want)

I typically recommend pop!_os over Manjaro

Realistically, though, most distros will work well for gaming if you install steam, proton-up, and maybe lutris so long as you don't need Nvidia drivers

I found that thread because I was curious I've skimmed it and saw many instances of people going "but it's only on the snapdragon x chip", as if Intel and AMD aren't gonna release the same CPUs but capable of more AI shit

Yeah I tried installing it a year or two ago, but a lot of the hardware on my laptop (only machine atm) was not compatible. It was stuff like the touchpad not even being detected. I booted into the same install iso a few months ago and somehow it all worked.

It's a shit show sometimes, but it can surprise you

I disagree. I've used KDE's discover thingy to install stuff basically through dnf on fedora. It's incredibly possible for the average user, who basically just browses the web and maybe writes documents.

Backup cameras are pretty good imo because they let you see the small things you wouldn't be able to see out of a mirror. Helps prevent needless accidents. If you don't wanna use it, just don't look at it. Most cars should still have rear view mirrors
