  • I didn't care so much about specific wordings but answered to the gist of it. Yes, I cannot strictly quote you on that, but so what?

"Many are opposed to ads" gave the impression it would be worth considering to have ads.

Anyways, that's like the least interesting angle, to discuss what specific words you used.

  • Find like minded people, go away from civilization. That's basically it! If you want that, you will find a way.

Most people still live in a state close to that. And unlike us, who can freely choose how much civilization we want, they cannot.

Most people also prefer to have civilization, with some hygiene, security and comfort. But if you really want a simple life, it's basically free.

I really think it's worthwhile pursuing if it's a dream of yours. You either manage to live a happier life, or learn to appreciate what you have.

  • It's dishonest to pretend the other side shares your point of view, thus ignoring their point of view, as if it would not exist.

A bit ironic to do so in a subthread which is all about the two sides should talk to each other.

Maybe it only underlines how hard that is. We here have no stakes in that game and still cannot at least acknowledge other positions.

  • Maybe the situation has changed. Some parts of Palestine see themselves as opressed, see negotiations and compromise as futile. They want their land back. Some parts of Israel will not want to cede that without a fight. Others are worried of being suicide bombed in coexistence.

People in general can coexist peacefully. But in the current timeline, it isn't obvious how peace could be achieved without anyone moving.

  • Yes, but there is ethnic cleansing in all directions. If the conflict continues, ethnic cleansing. If a stable peace can be found in favor of Israel, ethnic cleansing. If a stable peace can be found in favor of Palestine, ethnic cleansing. A compromise? Ethnic cleansing. Change my mind.

  • From the article:

we learn that the entire observable universe – the area that sits within the “Hubble radius” is also on that line. In other words, if a black hole was as large as the universe we can see, it would have the same density as the universe.

Not saying any of this makes sense, but you seem to be working with different assumptions.

Another narrative could be: As mass gets added to the black hole, it (the universe) grows.

  • The whole concept of industry co-writing laws and regulations has utterly failed. How much precedent do we need?

Lobbyists are not counselors, it's just legalized corruption. This is not a healthy part of democracy, but eroding trust.

    It's working against the people.

  • Which. Does it really matter who did it, at this point?

Yes, if alone for the insane amount of times Israel was found guilty in titles posting about this on the internet, and Lemmy.

Maybe we could say it does not matter now if it did not matter then. But it seemed to matter a lot.

Apart from that, correcting misinformation for truth is always worth it.
