Creating music is harder than performing (hence all the cover bands). If you don't create then you must be even better at performing, but it is feasible. Check out Fiorella Mannoia in Italy. Very good singer but mostly she doesn't write her songs. Plus there are good songwriters who have stage fright or are not good at performing in public.
Also the Nazis did the olocaust with an order (the final solution, they called it), and most just followed it blindly. Always raise questions! Never stop thinking for yourself!
