  • I usually tie it into a discussion about password managers and show them Bitwarden too. Like with my in-laws I did a dark web scan and showed them their own passwords were basically public knowledge. Could they use it with Chrome? Sure. But they want to know they're secure and they trust me, so I get them on Firefox with a password manager.

  • That poor girl... Horrible parents should carry some of the blame though and pay for her therapy then apologize. If they win the lawsuit, every damn penny should be set in a trust for her so they can't profit off their own negligence.

  • The transition was a little weird for the first week, now I just use Chrome when I have to login with Google for some stupid shit. Otherwise it sits in my app drawer, because I'm definitely never logging in to a Google service while using Firefox.

YouTube is better, browsing is better, ad block works, it's just overall a superior browser.

  • That's a bummer, I was just going to ask if it was even worth installing on the Steam Deck. Guess I'll stick with the open world single player games and Slay The Spire.

  • You refuse to learn LGBTQIA+, yet argue that other people are too simplistic? I mean, even LGBT is easy enough for most people.

ACAB isn't an attack per-se it's a commentary on the prevalence of police brutality, nearly ubiquitous, while a large swathe of the public says, "Most of them are good people." Well then, why are "good people" tolerating the bad? The only logical answer is ACAB until they police their own.

  • The tankies are not totally benign here though, so be careful. If you dig deeper you'll see some of them have "big plans" to "work outside the two party political system" and to push back against their interpretation of reality.

  • I had to appeal a permanent ban there for something super stupid, like really dumb. Roughly, I said, that public figures should be very careful because there are crazy people out in the world who will take their words seriously.

They said I was provoking violence, when I was commenting on the mindset of violent people.

At least here in Lemmy I can just block the irrational mods and instances like lemmy.ml and move along with minimal impact.

  • I used Ubuntu for about a decade and I still use a Linux system via SSH to run code, so I'd like the challenge. I just wanted to know if it's worth the work or just a meme, thanks!

  • I've spent over a decade in Ubuntu and using ssh terminals to run code, but I'm looking for big boy Linux. I think I'll try it out.

  • The Internet is full of little bitches that think sky daddy will be mad if they use their straw suckers and food tasters in an evil way.

  • I want something chill, that's not grinding. I wanted to like Pal World, but the pace is so slow. Same with Ark, love the concept, fuck having to log in every day to feed dinosaurs.
