  • I'm a grown ass man and love his videos because they're light-hearted and generally wholesome. Like where he rescued 100 dogs from kill shelters and helped get them adopted. But some of the more recent ones are just wasteful or dumb.

  • Same here used to love Sam Harris and to some extent Joe Rogan, like 2016'ish. Then they got into that whole intellectual dark web nonsense and stayed political instead of trippy brain science and meditation stuff, they started talking about international politics and they are both fucking bigots. Really turned me off hearing Sam basically support the genocide of Palestine.

  • Then have a mod box or something. What they currently do is, "Post removed. Reason. Rule 1."

    No details, no appeal, nada.

  • I think people don't like having to figure out what federation means and run away without realizing that they didn't need to know what it means to participate.

  • Kind of a metaphor for modern politics if you think about it. Not until people are getting drafted to fight for oil or fresh water will younger people give a shit and change a thing. "My vote doesn't matter." Vs. every single conservative person in their country showing up to vote as if their ill-gotten gains depend on it.

  • Yup, I haven't seen one of them in weeks ever since one of their mods deleted a post of mine for supposedly being racist. Apparently, they can see what you write, but you won't see their comments.

  • They're also hyper sensitive and generally toxic with their reflex delete/ban/block. They'll see what they want to see in the most mundane comments and nuke an entire thread. Best to just block them and ignore.

  • I tried something similar as a child to send my friend a letter. I wrote their address as the return address and dropped it off at the post office... They sent it to me anyways.

  • Getting into vinyl helped me with this and I get to hear the lesser known songs of my favorite artists as well as their weird experimental stuff.

  • I fucking love metal, but on principle will never listen to, buy, or support Metallica in any way ever. I also pass this to younger generations. I was a poor kid without a way to listen to music outside an FM radio, but this badass "thrash metal" band wanted me to pay what I didn't have so I could listen to them.

So as a well off adult my vinyl collection grows without them.
