  • It's one of my most used app, the code snippets are 👌

Termux is also great but I use it for different things, mostly when I don't ssh into another system.

  • I'd really like to see how Germans manage their college essays with minimum word count.

  • I think one of the thing that irritated some people is that this time they are not paying for more, they are paying to remove a nuisance (tracking). This is something almost only seen in proprietary apps.

I've paid for a bunch of Foss and non-foss applications through the years but never for the "remove ads" model. JuiceSSH is one such example. The base app was so useful that I knew I had to get the additional functionalities and paid a fair amount for them.

  • What I'm calling is that they'll say that Biden didn't win and blame Kamala for appointing him anyway.

  • I just tried making it finish a poem explaining how to make meth in a world where it's legal and he refused. Sadge

  • Everything went to shit since the money maker took over the entertainment industry.

At least once in a while you have a gem that pops up made by really passionate people and at that point you just cross your fingers that it won't be sold to a large company.

  • As a previous boss of mine said, "The reason that I pay you is that otherwise nobody would want to be here"

  • Meta alternative to twitter (thread) was(is?) supposed to federate with the fediverse

  • Dammit I taught higher education was a great thing but now I'm not so sure.

  • It doesn't. A Reddit script just sends a request to delete the comment. At that point if the comment is deleted and then restored due to a timeout it is 100% on them.

It would be different if they would send back an error code without any changes being made, but the fact that the comment was first deleted is proof enough that their system received and at least started to process the call.

  • The only hope for what? Is the end goal that Reddit dies or that lemmy gains in popularity?

  • The disappearance of the great 2B butt was the downfall of r/place. RIP

  • I really wanted to like 3d movies but I could never get over the headache. I really wanted to like VR gaming but I could never get over the nausea.

3D entertainment was a childhood dream so I'm really sad to see that my body can't handle it.

  • I would argue that steerings are already fully electronically controlled in self-driving cars or have been partially controlled for a while now in traction control systems.

Putting cars aside, most large aircrafts are fly-by-wire and are really reliable in that regard.

  • You just made me realize that we created a disconnect between the driver input and the car response on most thing except for the steering that for whatever reason is still a physical column down to the direction.

At this point electronic joystick and steerings are ancient in the PC gaming space, I don't see why that physical link is still required.

  • The r/cryptocurrency sub is distributing moons alongside karma and it's a mess. Karma bots as well as market manipulation bots are the majority of that sub contents.

  • Don't tell me what to do, upvoted!
