Basically what happened is that they released a video of the wrong cell and then removed a minute from that video in order to confuse people.

Whether it's super common or not isn't important to the post though.

Did someone backup that data? They could host it on a non-US server and generate a Streisand Effect.

I think it's quite clear that the mob is the lesser evil. The US federal government broke the social contract and so the state has no legitimacy. The mob also isn't interested in genocide.
