He also pardoned Fauci and a bunch of other people because the republicans specifically said they were going to try to get revenge against them for things like prosecuting Jan. 6 rioters.
It was a rare moment where the Democrats actually acknowledged that maybe the Republicans aren’t acting in good faith and maybe don’t care about “decorum”. About several decades too late but whatever, it’s what happened.
I mean take literally any of these executive orders and swap them for a democrat. We’d all still be pissed off and conservatives would be absolutely RABID.
Tariffs can help with preparation, and they are a tool like many other policies. These ones, though, are not thoughtfully planned out. These protect no one, not even the mega-corps who need to figure out how to make everything domestically or price themselves out of the market.
This dude basically got no punishment and yet still wants to not have to face consequences. He’s got a CVS reciept of felonies and was completely let go of any punishment from the last thing and he’s still mad?
Exhausting, and imagine if a Democrat did this shit.
That part about rationality is huge. Far too many people believe that something costs an amount because it is worth that amount, and far too many people believe that something “is worth what someone will pay for it” while neglecting concepts like advertising and propoganda. So many things in this world cost far more than they should and wages are getting, relatively speaking, lower each year while those aforementioned costs rise and where’s the rationality in that? And all while people use that same belief to justify to themselves why a billionaire has “earned” their hoard.
It’s our biggest flaw, economically speaking and in my opinion, that we judge someone based on the money they have and not how they may have gained or lost it. A parasite with millions “must be pretty smart” and a hard worker out of a job “must just be lazy”.
No one is saying you can’t get mad except for the people trying to avoid consequences for their shitty actions. We may have made up the thing which represents another but we did so for a very real reason. Everyone who says “it’s just a word” in regards to very intentionally calling someone a slur has a laundry list of “made up”(and literally made up because Conservatives are dumb as shit and fall for fake news constantly) things that they get extremely pissy about. I mean, borders anyone?
So get mad, a Nazi salute is a fucking threat at its core and that’s plenty real. Dehumanizing language is intended to put people in very real danger. Someone taking your money removes you from our very real system of cooperation and safety. These people do not get to dodge consequences because they have an F- level understanding of the most basic concepts of philosophy that they can’t even apply consistently.
We sorta do see “government” at times in nature. There are animal groups in which different individuals have different jobs, though it’s much less nuanced and hard-set as a proper government, though(unless we’re talking about ants, I suppose). And that cooperation definitely helps them do a lot more than they ever could alone.
Apes together, strong haha
From my experience they believe that it’s an executive’s right to do shitty things for money if the law allows for it. They also believe that it’s some other person(who generally has it much worse and can’t easily fight back) who is making their lives hard for them.
A charicature(though not by much) to make my point clear would be: “it’s the immigrants’ fault that my boss needs to deny my raise and dodge their taxes again! It’s regulation’s fault that I can’t afford anything, not my shit wage combined with landlords and real-estate speculators working tirelessly to fuck everyone over! I’d get to work faster if they took out that bike lane! The woke mind virus is why I can’t find a “female”, not my shitty personality that they’re finally able to have the freedom and unity to not put up with anymore!”
Age of retirement goes up, working hours stay the same(or sometimes even get worse), wages go down(compared to inflation), and we still only have two measly weekend days. And the real kicker is that we know for a fact that we’d actually be even more productive if we soent less time at work.
It’s all horseshit.
One, like they said that’s not what they meant. Two, work is only goals-based to a point. If I finish my job early then almost in almost any office I don’t get to go home early. I used to get my shit done in half the day and, because I asked and no one would give me more(even when I identified issues I could fix), I would spend the other four hours watching Youtube or browsing the internet.
The only reward for doing your work faster is getting more work. My roommate was able to move to a four day work-week but had to do so because of burnout and even though they get their shit done the company still only agreed if they could reduce their salary by 20%.
Automation has also already been here for some time in many forms. Our productivity is higher than it’s ever been thanks to so many wonderful innovations and new technologies and yet we still only have two short days to have a weekend and still have to force our way through an 8hr workday even though every study shows that we cannot be consistently productive on that schedule.
I mean, we could all see the true nature of the U.S. ages ago. Like literally decades and decades ago and pretty much the whole time, to be honest.
Do you think “change” is the only important thing there? People want good change, and many know what that looks like. They didn’t have to compete against Trump’s marketting of the same concept, they just needed to finally grow a spine and do the things people have been pleading for for years.
I hate it, too, that wasn’t my intention with the response and I added an edit.
But yes, it fucking sucks that the country constantly has such awful choices.
Let’s be clear, while this is all definitely Trump’s fault it wasn’t not being an old, white male that did her in. She was aggressively centre-right and when people want change, when we can all see that the whole world needs change, running on “slightly less garbage and slowly moving in the right direction eventually maybe” is not very energizing.
That whole country is a massive dumpster fire that had to choose between a spray bottle or a can of gasoline to put it out.
Edit: I should clarify that the population should have still voted against Trump(note the wording there) and that it’s shameful that so many of them voted for him. What I’m responding to is the fact that people didn’t avoid Kamala because she was a woman or of a darker complexion and I don’t think we can blame old racists for this one.
I tried to play it but it’s coded so fucking poorly that it would regularly crash and I also got bug really early on that meant I could never interact with this one NPC, and that bug is apparently in the bone-stock, unmodded game!
Bethesda just makes dogshit products and it’s a shame when the story seems interesting but, like, I have better things to do then have my mediocre game crash again.
Except for day’s you’re sick, stuck inside, etc. Then when you get older the walking would be harder but you still gotta breathe. Plus you can still work any job you’d like since people do like to keep busy, and since it’d probably be more of a passion thing you might be hyper-focused and forget to get your walking in for the day. All the stuff I’d be doing wouldn’t have too much walking involved.
I’d take breath, it’s already more money than I could ever spend so why not make it passive?
The “pick your poison” people are always the ones choosing the absolute worst poisons and it’s getting really tiring listening to their pseudo-wisdom.
Teslas also have some horrific privacy/ownership issues, sub-par build quality, and have regularly locked people inside during fires. They also have shitty door handles that ice over in winter, use software updates as a crutch, and Elon Musk makes other vehicle manufacturer CEOs look like saints.
Also, you don’t need to buy from all of them. Subaru is a real company that doesn’t do horrific things and actually has proven that they’re honest when they say that infinite growth is not something they chase.
If the reason you’re afraid to know is because you want to buy stuff and feel good then you have a bigger problem. It’s ok not to know but to essentially refuse to know?
Nobody…except everyone? Pay attention, bud.
We also know that they aren’t failing. The fear behind them, the fact that visible minorities do not feel safe and that his base feels empowered to go after them as well, that’s all working as planned.
