  • What blows my mind is even in states like Washington, California and Oregon, which utilize mail-in voting, only about 75% of registered voters participated. How hard is it to check some boxes and fling the letter in the mailbox?

  • Exactly. I have a 1.5 hour daily time limit on Voyager, my Lemmy client, and I hit it every day, no problem. I do miss some of the niche subs but, every time I go back to ask a quick question, so many people are just so goddamned mean that I'm still very happy I left.

  • It must be a regional thing as we're probably about the same age. Growing up in CA, I frequently saw portions of walls made of these, especially in businesses and universities. One house by me had a cool turret staircase with alternating wall sections made of these glass bricks. There wasn't much privacy at night, although you could only make out vague shapes.

  • I use chrome once or twice a year, when I need to figure out if a website problem is my browser or the site.

  • Easy now, fuzzy little man peach.

  • They'll write a stern letter that threatens an even sterner follow up letter if they don't comply!

  • Yeah, it's a few years away from being ready. Plus the dumb shits need to backpedal on this "cameras for everything!" idiocy.

I'm surprised the taxis aren't being driven remotely while Musk lies about their amazing AI or whatever.

  • However, I'm at the stage of life where I'm no longer interested in working 60-hour weeks.

I've literally never felt like putting in 60 hour weeks, but I also am salaried. I get out of the office ASAP.

  • It's practically untrue. The size of the wound required to introduce enough hydrogen peroxide into your bloodstream to produce a problematic amount of gas would be a much more pressing issue. Unless you're pouring large volumes into a gaping wound, the positive pressure of your cardiovascular system will keep the majority from finding its way into your blood.

  • And that 145 is just those who noticed. I regularly have to self administer injections and they're often nearly painless once you're used to doing it, especially with small gauge needles.

  • That would require their self driving algorithm to actually detect an accident. I doubt it's capable of doing so consistently.

  • I just started listening to this thanks to your comment and it does not disappoint, even if it's not terribly surprising so far.

  • Bingo. What's more insufferable than a person whose life revolves around lauding their own achievements? A room full of them.

  • I've been unemployed the last six months so I've been on that hellhole daily, looking for openings. You're right, it's definitely more political now than in January.

  • These people didn't support Trump out of a selfless desire, out of altruism, out of a sense of love and patriotism for their country. They did it to benefit themselves.

She just described the entire Trump administration. No thoughts, empty head.

Also, when the talks, her mouth moves and her eyes blink but the rest of her face does not move and it's freaking me out.

  • Not trying to be that guy, but it's urea, which breaks down to ammonia due to microbial action once it's out of the cat. If a cat is pissing ammonia, it has big problems and needs to see a vet.

Other contributors to awful cat piss smell are mercaptans, the same compounds responsible for the scent of skunk spray, and pheromones and fatty acids released when the cat is spraying versus normal urination. It's all compounded by cats being adapted for arid environments so their urine is much more concentrated than human urine.

I love cats but they're gross little fuckers sometimes.
