Ah thanks, I had missed that! I hadn't slept yet at the time so didn't even notice their instance. Also don't think I've ever tried to look at a mastodon instance. Which Lemmy client do you use? I feel like mine hasn't updated for a while now that I think about it

You can (could?) reach out to Steam Support, and this is part of the email they reply with:

"In the unlikely event of the discontinuation of the Steam network, measures are in place to ensure that all users will continue to have access to their Steam games."

Not sure if they ever expounded upon those details though.

Rather than shame someone who is changing, maybe encourage it. It's easier to get people on board the train if people are friendly rather than passing negative judgment.

Huh, thanks for this. I have family that swears by them, but they also make me sick. I didn't realize they had sorbitol. I had wondered why their brand was so disagreeable to me.

You can still find a lot of their games on the various flash game collection websites. I lived on Lego and Cartoon Network games.

I'll forever miss playing that Galidor Quest one though. Haven't found a place to replay that, think someone said it needed backend stuff that wasn't ever made public. 😭

I have been reading the links, have you been? Or reading your messages and mine? The LA one refers directly to used car purchases, which if we are still comparing these poor people to cars would be relevant, at least for those that are not children.

I'll admit the first didn't have have any good examples (that I saw), it was more to convey the concept of buyers remorse laws existing for cars, since you sounded absolutely incredulous about the idea.

I was merely showing buyers remorse laws exist for car purchases, though it looks like some of them aren't in effect anymore at least in California (my last used car had a cooling off period).

None of this would ever apply unless you buy from a retailer, which is not the scenario here as I understand it 🤷‍♂️

And you can't really compare it to "this scenario" because (most?) civilized countries don't condone the buying and selling of people. You're more than welcome to provide a link to legal retailers of humans though.

Did you play the first KCD on the steam deck? It's on my list to play, but I haven't looked at how it handles on there or if I should just use my actually medicine to play.

No one said what you said was fascism...? The other poster seemed to be implying that a candidate deemed "fine" should always be the better choice over a fascist.

Condemning fascism is not being combative.

If that other post is talking about the game I think they are, the people faking reviews were the publishing house, not the devs. The devs had been just as blindsided in that incident.

The publishers of that game (and many other games they published) allegedly had a private group where they gave out free steam keys and required the redeemers to give bogus positive reviews in exchange for the free games. Which is a shame because the game was actually super fun and ran great.
