I don’t have enough information to have an opinion and I do agree with you that knee jerk reactions are not ideal. But choosing to allow it (at a time when AI generated media is starting to be regulated) is also a decision.
If it is in fact helping them, yes. It would be ideal to do a study of how it affects their self control before going that direction though I think, as some argue it would do the opposite.
Most cats in cities do not live outside, cats are not native to most places they occupy, and most people do not let invasive pets they keep outside to poop on property shared with others without cleaning it up. And cities would be worse off if they did.
That should never be a reasonable option anyway wtf, just send your cat to shit in your neighbours yard or a park or something so you don’t have to deal with it is rude
I think while they may be a bit distasteful to some, you can’t really start considering unclothed animals as nude or most photos of them would be breaking the rules…
Still a blatant photo of animal’s junk can definitely be inappropriate and since you asked nicely I think it’s perfectly reasonable to mark NSFW (and also it’s a bit funny to do so too)
I do this to keep stories or conversations moving as well, but I more often do so to avoid talking about something I don’t feel like sharing with them, because I know it’s going to draw more questions and I just don’t care to give that information or have that conversation.
The reason to care about that is to improve your chances of solving the problem. If it turns out they are doing that unintentionally, talking to them may fix or reduce your problem, pretty straightforward.
Maybe they don’t realize how far they’re wandering, it’s just worth a shot is all. It’s not the only option available anyway, people absolutely can get fines handed out as well. I have more aggressive location ideas where the cat poop can be placed as well..
Don’t take your neighbours pet away. Don’t punish an animal that doesn’t know it’s doing anything wrong, punish the owner… by reporting them. Or relocating the cat shit to their front step. Or you can start by just talking to them
