  • Actually, you're right, I didn't even think about it

If I wrote "I love to read, I read an interesting book every day", then the way you say the latter 'read' shifts from my original example, and it depends on context that comes later in the sentence

    Wack

  • The solution is to work towards forming and building up antifascist guerilla resistance blocks, so that when shit really starts getting too real for people, resistance groups are there ready to go

Yes, it of course would have been better to do it all earlier, but as you said..

It's super frustrating, for sure. You can plainly see what's gonna happen, and yet most people are too clueless to support it

  • Interestingly enough though, the directors of the matrix are two trans women

But while yes, queerphobia was worse in some ways, it was also not as bad in others. For example, trans people didn't have the massive organized targeted attack back then. In many ways, things have gotten worse in this aspect too

  • Quantum computers are not going to be used for AI. They are not a mystical technology that is going to make everything better, and you will certainly never have a quantum computer in the palm of your hand

AGI on classical computers is likely to be viable, but in a roundabout way you're right, we're probably going to end up with radically different computers, probably ones that mimic physical brain structure for maximum AI effectiveness. That's at least a few decades out though, but would likely be viable in our lifetime

  • Fascism never lasts. It's a self-destructive ideology that will start eating itself more and more over time. They will never win

The big issue of course, is about all the damage that's going to be done in the meantime. That's what I hope won't be too extreme

But if history is still a thing in the future, you can be certain that this moment in time will be judged very harshly

  • But like, it doesn't really matter, all that matters is that they will try and try to enforce it

What happened in the countries where they tried to stamp out insurgency? They ended up in rubble for the most part. That's the scary part

  • I don't believe you. An fps with ping as massive as over 1000 would be straight up unplayable

That's over a full second of delay! In an fps I routinely do split second maneuvers and reactions. If someone I was shooting at wouldn't be able to react to what I was doing for at least a full second, I would easily dominate them every single time

  • Military technology has got a near unlimited budget, that means you get tons of cool and technically impressive toys and things to work with

I enjoy watching the breakdowns of the most advanced weaponry and stuff like jet fighters (that we have access to information about), nuclear armaments, and other stuff like that, because they are very very impressive from an engineering perspective

But, of course, I really do strongly hate them for existing in terms of their actual purpose. It would be much cooler for similar engineering feats to be in use for civilian purposes. But I can't deny that they are amazing from a purely technical perspective

  • Well, then they have to face the consequences of not paying attention to the things happening in the place they intend to go to

Like, yeah, ideally you wouldn't need to worry about this, but this is always a risk when traveling, and politics has that trait of being interested in you whether or not you are interested in it back
