Canary Islands (Spain) because it is one of the best climate in the world. Always mid, average temperatures are around 20 degrees so winters are nice and summers not too hot. + you can go to the beach every day and it is Europe so you’ve got EU quality of life.
But I wont do it. Canarians are dying because of tourism, AirBnB and nomad workers. They can’t pay rents, there’s water shortages and too many old retired fucks from UK or Germany unable to speak Spanish and owning 25 apartments to short term rent. Fuck them, I wont be part of the problem.
So next solution is staying home, which happens to be one of the best country in the world for quality of life (Switzerland), so that’s not too bad. Food is not the best but France and Italy are less than 2h away by train.
I just need Tokyo to be a 2h train ride as well (for food yeah, again) and that would be perfect.
Probably full of stereotypes but I was young at the time and really enjoyed seing the work done by the Montecito security team. Also, plenty of beautiful ladies making teenager me happy.
I’m starting to feel the same way. When I was a teenager (more than 20 years ago) I wrote a short science fiction story. Being awesome with titles I simply named it "USA is the new nazi".
I work on the apple ecosystem too, but it came from my tests of making an hackinstosh on an old Lenovo.
It then discovered that I could use the same tools with the same shell language, doing the same tiling WM etc etc, all of that on an always working OS that I didn’t need to debug when shit got wrong (I was using Arch, BTW).
From then on I always work on 2nd hand refurbished macs. My daily desk tool in an m2 Mac mini and this thing is amazing. Linux is now only present on my server and gaming PC.
FFS, today when you look for something on start page or any search engine you get YouTube links or AI shit from non related websites.

Tech problems? YouTube and AI telling you to update drivers and reboot, on a website named sport-something.

At the time you could put Reddit on your search but we all know that won’t be a solution anymore, plus, because of people like me most of Reddit results are now a chain of deleted - deleted - deleted messages 😄
I really like the "thermal runaway thing" expression, and yeah it is a false equivalency but it’s a funny one.
EV charging and the tech around it can be slow today, but it doesn’t mean we should abandon and go back to what we know is working (as some people want to). This is a recipe for zero innovation and not the way to become a Star Trek like civilization.
In my city there are electric buses that charge in a few seconds at some stops along the route. No overhead wires, no big diesel engines and no noise.
We just need to work and improve those new vehicles, find better than the actual EV and combustion engines as well.
Yeah ok… Clean them like any normal logical human being, aka by using common sense and stuff you already have at home. Or buy those non necessary cleaning kits!
