  • On an interview with Piers Morgan no less, amazing. I don't think Morgan and Carlson get along that well, but they're positioned similarly enough in the general media landscape that there's probably a meaningfully non-zero audience shared between them

  • Ehhhhh we Scots should probably not argue too hard. Unlike the other two we joined mostly-voluntarily and were doing our own small scale empire thing beforehand as well. We were rubbish at it, but I don't think there are sympathy points for incompetence. The Welsh and Irish definitely got dragged along wthout a say though

  • We’re putting in hundreds of billions of dollars

I know that this is not even close to being the most egregiously wrong thing he has said, but no you aren't. You have put in less than one hundred billion. If you had put in hundreds of billions (and if Europe had done likewise, though the EU has cleared a hundred billion) the war would be over

  • That's not a solution in that situation, though. You can't pack them off to a therapist when they're at your door trying to join in. The friend showed up and asked for help getting involved, so for that day help them try to have a good time and then you can do the long term stuff tomorrow

  • Assuming that I can't rely on real life's ubiquitous floppy disk icon, I think something with a bookshelf is probably my best bet. An arrow pointing to the bookshelf for save, away for load. Bookshelves can be recognisable as pretty small icons and a physical book is extremely broadly understood. It may eventually fail if everyone moves to e-readers, but I think that's a long way off

  • A week for medical reasons, but I was being given intravenous water and nutrients the whole time. Those don't stop you from feeling like your stomach is empty, unfortunately. The first slice of toast afterwards was possibly the best thing I have ever eaten

Out of choice, maybe 32-ish hours? A full day plus sleep the night beforehand

  • The start of Tunic being basically the exact same as Dark Souls made me laugh once I reaised what it was doing. "Here, take your rubbish weapon and your dodge roll and go ring two important bells in opposite directions from here. It's important for saving the world."

  • I don't know if that's even cheese, I think it's the intended solution. How do you handle three fast-moving enemies at once? Use the choke point that the devs put just behind them

  • Ahh, the capra demon. Bane of many a Dark Souls run. I'm sure that if you wanted guides you'd look them up, but honestly it's not a bad fight at all if you can survive the scramble at the start

  • If they kept data without telling you, yes. If they just deleted it after rejecting or ignoring your application then I don't think they need to say anything

Here's the .gov page for how to make a complaint about it if you do think that they're getting up to shit https://www.gov.uk/data-protection/make-a-complaint

Also, just... Good luck, and stay strong. Job hunting really is a fucking miserable experience

  • I'm not sure if it was the pronunciation in all of the UK or just in parts of it, but historically there was also a "bwoy" pronunciation. I could imagine the American "boo-ee" descending from that
