Carnet is what I replaced it with, self hosted or it can be entirely local on device. But it isn't perfect to say the least.

Try chopping it up in a meat grinder, as long as the only thing that comes out, that's left of them is their eyeball, they're probably dead.

What are the jitters like?

I can 100% recommend prusa, I've got a mini and it really does just work. Maybe every month or so I'll have to disassemble the extruder because of a filament jam, but that was fixed by upgrading the extruder, and also took like maybe 30 seconds.
