  • A typical modern handgun will have a hammer, safety, magazine release, and trigger. (edit: no, a modern handgun will have a firing pin instead of a hammer) There's a pattern for correct usage that's easily repeatable and committed to memory. It's great for fidgeting.

The problem is that using gun as a fidget toy will totally fuck up discipline for all four of the fundamental firearm safety rules (for when it's not a toy):

    1. Treat all guns as if they are always loaded.
    1. Never let the muzzle point at anything that you are not willing to destroy.
    1. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target and you have made the decision to shoot.
    1. Be sure of your target and what is behind it.
  • It's not some brilliant plan. It's really fucking simple: Provide a dignified excuse to break tradition and break the opposing narrative. The dignity of the Office must be preserved.

I once quit working for the feds as a data analyst to be a subcontractor. Then, as soon as I had another anchor client, I kicked them to the curb mid-project.

.dev? You've disposable income. Ante up, then.

  • Its also not too far fetched for him to catch covid.

I agree. My point is that humans greatly overestimate that which favors themselves. We don't know the truth. We may never. And, the masses are severely underestimating the probability that it's one big lie.

It's not that I don't care about you personally. But, your personal anecdote is far from the data required to back your claim. I'm not asking you to dig up data. I already know the media isn't reporting the epidemic anymore. It just doesn't make much sense to support your statement in that way.

  • Why do people love conspiratorial thinking so much?

Because the well reasoned ones are often proven true in a few decades. During Trump we had truth in months. But, typically the President can follow the script.

Do you know how many people would have to be in on this?

Four: controller, media content, doctor, and spouse.

Do you know how easy it is to deceive the masses? Neolibs aren't nearly as far ahead of the MAGA cult as they like to believe.

  • When I was incarcerated the Chaplain was the one to understand this and act upon it. I called a friend, who bought books at a specific store, that the Chaplain picked up, smuggled into prison and left in my cell. He did this about once a month for a year, about a half dozen books at a time.

Mad respect for this man. He made so many people better for just being around. I stayed friends with him until his end. I hope he met his God as he wanted.

  • I don't think it's too far fetched at all to entertain the idea that Biden didn't catch COVID, that the story was fabricated to allow a clean transition to a new candidate. The magnitude of lie and manipulation isn't shit relative their other tactics.

If one assumes all politicians are selfish, evil liars until proven otherwise and understands the processes of the system then one can often predict the future. And, most everyone will hate them for it until they're dead.

  • If a prisoner works a day $3.50 and calls cost $0.25/min, then a prisonor can afford a 14 min call for a day's labor. Yes, these numbers are quite realistic.

Supply maintenance is near zero. Demand is elastic but there's no alternatives. Max profit is obviously not at the highest prices.

Helping prisoners was never the goal. It's convenient optics, icing on the cake of profit maximization.

Did you know that the US never abolished effective slavery. It's perfectly legal for prisoners. Always has been. It's even in the federal Constitution.

  • This sub hates the following message. That's why it comes today instead of yesterday.

Focus on loyalty to ideology, not party affiliation. Left ideology has been most consistently expressed by the Green Party platform (Sanders watered it down, twice). They've lots of problems. But, they're incredibly loyal to the platform.

If the Green Party gets 5% of the general election vote then they'll be on every ballot in '28. The Democrats can't silence the platform choice in primaries as they did twice to Sanders. This would place an incredible amount of pressure on Democrats immediately and be passively sustained for four years.

In a purple state I'd vote Democrat POTUS for harm reduction. In a blue state it'd depend on the nuance of the situation. But, in a red state, I risk absolutely nothing by not for voting harm reduction.

We're the only ones completely free to act for the long term. The blue wave thinks we're too stupid to understand nuance. Political parties don't deserve your loyalty. We need be loyal to each other, especially when we're hated for our choices.

  • Society is not ready to hear what a leftist President would feel an immense duty to teach. Most of them still think that if they share ideology then they must make the same choices. They lack the individual wisdom necessary for nuance.

Nice wish. But, bad timing. Hopefully soon.
