  • It helps I have a kid but I've pretty much completely stopped playing 'adult' games and have been enjoying the shit out of stuff like all the Lego games, Astro Bot, Kirby, Zelda Echoes of Wisdom, and other more kid friendly games. They're nowhere near as mentally taxing and grindy and they're way easier to just pickup and play for just a bit. I don't even remember where the heck I was at in Elden Ring and have little interest in spending 2 hours just to refresh myself with all the mechanics and my progress just to get my ass kicked by some boss 17 times.

  • Not only was she pro-genocide, but also an anti-immigration, pro-corporate, pro-police, and "maintain the status quo" candidate. I don't know a single measure that one could use to make her seem left-wing.

The DNC did the same with Biden and Clinton and nearly lost both of those times too. It's almost as if they want the Republicans to control everything if it means they don't have to actually advance leftist policy that is good for the country. Even Obama's crowning achievement was a Republican drafted healthcare plan that cemented the private medical insurance model into law.

  • Where'd you work though? This guy is going to work for Walmart equivalent of home improvement stores. After working at Walmart myself as a first job, I quickly grew to detest the place and quit twice before actually leaving (they talked me into staying the first time with a transfer and raise). It's a soul sucking environment without the high pay and benefits that OP is walking away from. I hope it works out but the phrase "the grass is greener on the other side" exists for a reason.

  • Nicotine isn't the worst component in cigarettes it's the chemical reactions created when burning and inhaling plant matter. Reducing the nicotine levels will just drive people to smoke even more cigarettes.

If they really wanted people to quit smoking they would have banned cigarettes instead of decimating the vaping industry like they did years ago, but vaping wasn't part of the revenue generating Master Settlement Agreement the government made with the cigarette companies, so it had to be almost completely wiped out while cigarettes remain available for sale in every corner store, gas station, and grocery store in the country.

  • Probably but that has the side effect of additional tobacco tax money for states and the federal government. That's the key issue here and why they cracked down so hard on vaping while still allowing cigarettes to be sold at every corner store in the country.

  • I don't think consumers really cared until the rightwing brainwashing machine told them it was the most pressing topic in existence right now.

I see people online screaming that they're going to cancel their costco membership because they decided to keep the program. I have yet to see a single person explain how Costco's hiring decisions affect them in any way.

  • It is weird along with the whole tail end of the election and the confidence Trump and Musk displayed knowing they were going to retake control. I wonder if they have something secret in their back pocket that they're using as leverage which we'll all see at some later date.

  • The cost of high-resolution microscopes can be prohibitively high for millions of students and researchers around the world.

Now they'll just need to spend $1,000 on a couple of 3D printers (FDM and resin) and supplies and bam you've got a fully functional microscope!

  • It's not a "fake clone" it's a "fan-made fork" based off some anonymous redditor's statement? It has the "OG encodes" but they're named differently and use different trackers?

The top comment on your link:

Use whatever site you like, but don't pretend to be some authority on the subject while patronizing people, especially when you're exclusively using public sites.

  • I'll second what they said about ZWave and their recommended switches.

I have that same Zooz scene controller in the kitchen and it works great to control the kitchen lights and the RGBW cabinet lighting I installed. For 'normal' smart switches, I'm using the dimmer and on/off Zooz switches (Zen32 and 34 I think? Zen72 & 76) which are about half the price of that Innovelli.

I used the HUSBZB in the past and it did work, but it's also pretty dated and hard to update so I went with the Sonoff 3.0 USB dongle (zigbee) and Zooz ZST10 dongle (zwave) and have had a trouble free experience.
