  • Well, I mean, to be fair, Hamas frequently does actually use hospitals and refugee camps as human shields. It doesn't make blowing up thousands of innocent people okay, but don't act like Israel is blowing up camps for no reason. They're doing it because Hamas are cowardly pieces of shit who hide behind children and sick people. Everyone is horrible in this except the innocent people dying in the crossfire.

  • Just remember as you read news, these are inherently biased sources. Basically all of them are. Look at who they are citing to understand how bias might affect the information being relayed to you. For example, if Hamas or Gaza Authorities are saying something, it is probably coming from a pro Hamas perspective, if IDF or Israeli authorities are saying something, probably comes with some bias too. This is true of all news, all the time. The spin is real. Anyone claiming a lack of spin are probably the biggest spinners of bullshit. It sucks that to be well informed you have to be able to be literate not only in the language but also how to read journalism itself. But that's the reality.

  • They're the propaganda arm of Doha, the same government that protects Hamas leadership. They've repeatedly printed Hamas lies without fact checking. Why would Israel not ban their propaganda outlet? Calling them journalists when they don't adhere to basic journalistic standards is ludicrous. This isn't new either. They've been acting this way forever. Lying about the hospital bombing was just the last straw.

  • Everything hurting for no discernable reason isn't normal at your age. The difference between your 20s and 30s is that in your 20s you don't need to do anything to not hurt. In your 30s and beyond you're gonna need to start taking care of yourself in order to not hurt. The pain is your body telling you something is wrong. Could be sleep apnea, hypertension, lack of activity or not enough recovery after activity. Again though, pain all the time for no reason isn't actually normal until much later in life.

  • Oh man, staple crops are subsidized waaaaaayyy more heavily than beef. Some of this grain goes to the beef industry as feed, so it is indirectly supported by taxes. But the reality is that the soy, barley, beans, or whatever else is in that veggie burger are subsidized directly and more extensively.

  • I was in my early teens in the 90s when leaded gas was finally banned in the US. Furthermore, lead doesn't degrade, only slowly disperse. People born in the early 80s still got a hefty dose of lead. Yay us.

  • A salad is at least one ingredient chopped up and tossed with some kind of dressing. This basically requires at least two ingredients. One chopped solid and one liquid dressing. Could be cucumbers and vinegar. Could be lettuce with ranch dressing. Obviously salads with more ingredients than two or three are probably gonna be better, but I think you could call cucumbers and onions chopped up and tossed with ranch a salad for sure.
