  • I'm having trouble with the "if you need more housing, rewarding development is what you need to do." Part

From my limited understanding the purpose of a developer is to do speculative research to determine what building ideas they can make a profit off. They pay the builders and then find a buyer for the finished product.

So I can see how removing the gst can help motivate the building of apartments. but is that really the best strategy? It seems like a gamble to me. If it's still more profitable to build over priced condos they'd stick to that. Having affordable apartments near by those condos may lower the demand for expensive condos. So it may not be in the best intrest of developers to make them, let alone make them last.

We'd need somthing a little more systemic. Somthing not dependent on doing the profitable, thing but doing what is nessary to ensure there is quality affordable housing.

  • So does this only benfit building developers? Seems like another rich getting richer situation.

  • Ah so it may be possible in the future. That whould be cool. Theres a lot of little webcomics out there struggling to be seen. Somthing like that could really help some of artist I think. And I'd love a platform for getting all the updates on the comics I read all in one place.

  • Probably a dumb question.

But if a site is using comicpress will it now be possible to see updates of that site via Lemmy?

  • Before being a fan of homestuck I was really into Xenogears but avoided talking about it because rhe Fandom seemed to really want to hypersexualize the whole thing. I just liked the robots fighting and obscure references to 80s sci-fi movies.

I wasn't aware other people even liken homestuck untill attending an anime convention with some friends.

Everything i enjoy is full of horny people and I hate it.

  • I am on a beach, in a old lawn chair. the sand is grey. the sky is a deep dark blue. The sun has not risen. It is cold but not freezing. There is no wind.

I am aware of the long dead remains of the other beach goers around me. But I choose not to acknowledge them. I know peace in this moment.

I close my eyes as the sun begins to rise. Though does nothing against the blinding light. I do not see my final moment. I see nothing.

... either that or I dream of eating a big pizza.

  • This John fellow seems like a trickster

  • Thank you, I had to bug the support line a bit to figure it out, but they agreed I needed to use this guide and helped me out. My inbox is now a little safer thanks to your advice.

  • I see. I think this is that case. It was in the spam folder. So it sounds like the new mail service is doing all it can here.

I'd also gotten a few fake Amazon fliers form like "vape demon69 dot com" which somehow didn't get marked as spam so I've been concerned that the junk prevention may really suck. But at least it seems to be marking the spoofed ones as junk.

  • No Ls also nothing in my sent box and it was marked as spam so rhe mail service knew somthing was up with it.

  • I'm guessing this isn't going to be as good as rent and house prices plummeting is it?

  • "Great game, can't wait for that sequel"

  • It's terrible enough this merger was allowed to even happen, now we are paying for it in what I am guessing is tax dollars.

At what point will we be replacing the maple leaf with the rogers logo?

  • Oh right. I didn't even notice the date.

  • I'm lost on what one has to do with Homestuck.

    Also what LMS is that?

  • I suspect this as well. Sorting by new I usually see everything has at least one down vote, it's not 100% though, otherwise I'd assume it's just a weird glitch.

  • Just toss him an a bottle of Faygo seal it and give it a good shake.

  • Lol no, but they are segragated blades you can use the slot on the back of one knife to break the blade of another. I can at least be less stingey about keeping them sharp this way. As they are cheap ones the blades do not last very long and rust out with even a tiny amount of moisture.

  • If this training is like most manditory online training in Ontario it'll be a shitty slide show made in Articulate. He can skip to the end of and hit done. These are deigned to separate accountability from the organizations and the employees, not actually teach anything.
