  • Proton unlimited, and I don't understand why did they go with Proton Pass. There's products like Bitwarden and LastPass (and more) that are feature rich. Bitwarden is open sourced.

I think having separate services is good, especially if it's cheaper that way. For photos I use ente even though I have 500gb just because they specialize in photos (same reason why Pass isn't useful IMO)

  • I pay for Proton, got my Mail Calendar and Drive use cases covered. I pay annually, it's not a small amount but it's only once every 2 years (ends up being equivalent to 8 euro a month, 191 euro total).

I use their VPN and SimpleLogin integration. The rest of my use cases are all covered by foss

  • If each chat connection gets a unique ID and zero info on my [pseudo]identity then that's great! Otherwise if this means they'll plug me into their social network to profile me that way - nah, thanks

  • I exclusively play Steam games on my Ubuntu machine because I don't have to do anything, it just works for me (only had to set up proton once on Steam and I was done forever).

There are sim games that I just boot into Windows to play them.

The boot up time of programs and privacy is worth it in my mind.

  • I was thinking about adding it, but will probably let this phone die on it's own and switcht to a Pixel phone with Graphene OS with the gps sandboxed, or whatever they do there to make it work

  • LineageOS, withoutgooglwe play services the drawbacks are some apps don't have a notification support (some have that live 24/7 notification to make it work, but most don't have that).

Picked LineageOS for the privacy features and how easy it is to run commands (I literally just had to copy and paste commands, one at a time, no hiccups)
