There's plenty of apps that have that pop up and still work just fine. I think Lyft just decided that they'll close the app in that case.

I think the popup comes from the sdk itself when the play services are not present.

Is that because there's a micro-g-like sdk installed to make it work? Or something else?

My phone fortunately is still very much functional.

I might end up reinstalling lineageos with micro-g, yeah. Will use uber web for now (assuming it'll work)

In my view it's either my ISP seeing everything or someone else. I don't trust my ISP, I route my traffic to a different country where I don't live in and them viewing my activity is potentially less of a problem, in my view (just in case they do manage to de-anonymize me)

Why is it trivial for them to steal your private keys? Does your computer unable to verify public keys?

Which also confirms my recollection of that article that talked about the police using the data to add story points for their prosecution. You just need a few data points that you're sure is true and potentially de-identify the bulk data (with some confidence, if you know the suspect's data is there).
