  • "I'm already apart of the Fediverse" 🥲

  • Played the game for an hour or so on a Steam Deck OLED today. Works fine out of the box, didn't make any changes.

  • Just as I got used to waking the LCD deck I use as a desktop with my Bluetooth keyboard... Hopefully it's back by stable.

Need to try out the gamemode OBS fix!

  • I just finished my chapter 2 play-through of Pokémon Flux; what a blast.

Also playing Control on the side. I finished it for the first time last month, but still a lot of side-quests to do, and the gameplay is still very fun.

Aside from that, the dailies/weeklies in Genshin Impact, Zenless Zone Zero, and Tabletop Simulator.

  • Been seeing a lot of these threads with impossibly open-ended barely tenuous one-liner quotations being posted around technical communities. Is those a new AI thing?

  • What are you moving away to? I'm assuming you're still keeping your VPNs and DNS ad-blockers etc?

  • Stars are perhaps even more common in written text for highlights and annotations than typed text, at least around here. I can draw a star much faster than three asterisks. But it wouldn't be very easily distinguishable as the Fediverse star. And that's the same between the regular sharp and pointy star and the rounded outline one.

  • Now, if we could get the Unicode Consortium to add the graphical logo, I'd be sold. But if we must pick an existing character, I for one prefer the outlined star (⚝) much more than either the asterism (⁂) or the pentagram (⛧).

Unlike the pentagram, it aligns a lot better with inline text and looks nice and smooth. It's also far less commonly used or overloaded with existing readings.

The asterism would be easier to unambiguously read or write by hand though! That's its one pro.

  • For a while I was seeing people use the asterism symbol (⁂) around my Mastodon feed. Wonder what happened to that movement.

  • The ability to post a video to multiple co-authors' channels.

  • Instantly brought back memories of zoning out to Knytt on my then new PC 😊

  • I really wish there were more of them.

  • My biggest complaint is that their complimentary ROM collection doesn't have any of the Patapon games. I put mine in and now it's perfect :D

  • By outright piracy ofc. They include a shoddy SD card full of ROMs, but you can and should use your own card (for longevity) with your own ROMs (for legal reasons...)

  • The R36S is a "dirt cheap" Linux retrohandheld you can get pretty much everywhere. No built-in WiFi though, which limits usability quite a lot.

  • If both of the Decks connect to the same WiFi, you'd be able to play local multiplayer games just fine. Not every game will support local multiplayer though, and vice versa.

As for games: How about Divinity Original Sin 2? Plenty of tactics, but also a lot of reading. Has local co-op support, but the fights are turn based anyway so I'm sure what latency issues you had over L4D2 wouldn't be a concern.
