I took it the exact opposite way. College students aren't using the app and the CEO was forced out... I'm sorry "stepped down"

I sometimes think they might be intentionally steering people away from longer term connections because the core model of app development teams nowadays is constantly driving engagement. A long term connection means (hopefully) no more engagement.

I'm so glad that I never had to deal with the app scene. It sounds both exhausting and boring.

It's anecdotal but a lot of people I work with have been giving up on the app scene. They're obviously older than the average college student.

Not to my knowledge. Reddit had bots for that but lemmy is still getting its sea legs. I might get a notification because I posted the article but I might not too.

Everyone's different. I've watched videos on shorts that I would never click to watch and I really enjoyed them.

I don't understand how people can not only vote against their own interests but vote for people who are openly hostile towards them. It boggles the mind.

It's possible. People said he couldn't win in 2016. I don't want him to win. I voted against him twice and if he's nominated I'll do it again but if you say he has no chance then you're just kidding yourself.

Muslim support for Trump went up from 2016 to 2020. Is it really crazy that it might go up again?

I live in a town with about 60,000 people and one year we didn't get a bus for months. Other times the bus was cancelled the night before. It's more common than you think.

I like them. I watch a lot of long videos (30 - 90 minutes) so it's nice to just watch really short stuff from time to time.

I think there's more here at play than theocracy. I don't know why more Muslims supported Trump the second time around but something is causing them to support someone who has a track record of being hostile to them.
