Hell, I hope Russia liberates as far as Kiev. Whatever remains is guaranteed to be a Nazi-infested, thoroughly Blackrock-owned hellhole, after all- frankly, the Ukranians should be fighting to join Russia if they know what's good for them.
My experience with lemm.ee posters is that they always seem to have the worst takes possible, tbh. And I don't use lemmygrad to see lib/chud shit- so honestly the whole fediverse business is 🤷♀️ on my end to begin with, though most seem rather decent (other than lemm.ee)
obviously Carlson indended it for a domestic conservative audience in the US, but frankly this is above their intellectual level and most of them are likely to check out after ten minutes of Putin not repeating their favorite talking points about Biden’s dementia, liberals, LGBT and the globalists
Honestly I was surprised- because there is a lot to go on on these fronts (other than the LGBT, and to a lesser extent dementia issues of course).
Putin wouldn't have had to lie. All he needed to do to toss some crumbs on Tucker's table, would be to talk about the military-industrial complex and the deep state/"the blob." He could have used the example of the (after the fact, publicly touted) blatant insubordination, stalling, and sabotage of Trump's attempts to withdraw from the illegal occupation of Syria as an easy and blatant example that comes to mind. He could have described the neoliberal/neoconservative strategy and vision for the future, which is essentially the typical "globalist" schtick but with actual receipts and not smearing one ethnoreligious group.
I get why he still played so tame, and it was an interesting interview despite it. I suppose we'll never quite know what could have come, out of what could have been, though- maybe for the better, maybe for the worse.
The interview was rather tame- and yes, Tucker is a fascist (though still props to him for stepping up to the chopping block all the same, I can respect that).
I suspect the real groundbreaking things to come will be Tucker's metaphorical crucifixion to come, by the infinitely worse neocon fascists.
How’s Sandrock? I remember it had tons of bad reviews not long ago.
Pretty good, if it had bad reviews I didn't notice (but actually). I'm not sure if it falls under the categories of peasant simulator (probably) and it's a linear story, though.
If a linear story doesn't matter too much (because the story isn't the point for most people at all in said games) and it seems up your alley, I suppose Monster Hunter World+Iceborne is still on sale for about a week on Fanatical, recently I got playing it again since some of my siblings are getting into it (been a fan since the wii era myself).
The world wants less US "influence" abroad; the US populace generally wants less as well, mainly due to being dead tired of paying for the various misadventures rather than any sudden jolt of conscientiousness. During the Trump era when this was written it could even be said that the POTUS (and pretty much no one else in politics- both parties and the blob/"shadow government" beneath them actively worked to sabotage this agenda, the army even admitting afterwards to lying to his face and stalling to keep in Syria despite both the popular demand, and the demand of the elected POTUS) wanted, in some degree, less "influence" abroad, at least in the MENA region, Europe, and perhaps the whole old world to begin with.
The MIC and the warmongering, neocon elites who dream of unlimited tyranny, monopoly, white supremacy and their thousand year reich will never accept such a thing, and for the US and the west in general, those are the only opinions that matter. As we've seen since.
If mild celebrating of fascist sympathizers (still too much, I agree) and some institutions promoting "traditional values" were enough to define fascism, most countries in existence could be labeled fascist, one way or another.
Obviously none of this is good, but no, I don't think Russia is heading to fascism. Too comfortable with some forms of it? Definitely, 100%. But it is incomparable to what is going on on a daily basis not only in Israel, Ukraine and the Baltics (ie. the most extreme forms of it), but in the USA, Brussels and across the EU, in the UK, Canada, Australia, etc...
Things can have more nuance than "everything is fascism/heading to fascism" and this is one of those things. Russia remains a civilization-state with many constituent peoples and proper autonomous regions rather than a supremacist ethno-state nor a unrepentant, genocidal squatter-state like Israel, the US, and Canada; it remains anti-imperialist and a major part of the forces against white, western supremacy, exploitation, and genocide worldwide (even if a large part of it is due to circumstance); obviously, it should receive critical rather than unconditional support, but same goes with Iran, Afghanistan, with the Saudis' move away from the west, with Mexico, Brazil, the list goes on... hell, same goes (if to a far lesser extent as there simply is far less to criticize, and proletarian rule is something that must inherently be defended in and of itself) for AES states.
Honestly, I suspect the world needs a counter-movement against centuries of Anglocentric/Eurocentric propagandizing. If media were in any way reflective of reality in these aspects, 95% of the antagonists would either be evil white, western (generally Anglo-American) folk, or working under the service of said evil white Anglos.
Probably 500,000~ communists (and then maybe another 500,000~ non-communist ethnic Chinese-Indonesians, and another 500,000~ or so of an assortment of various indigenous ethnic groups (Javanese Abangan, Balinese, etc. looking it up) who fell afoul of the military-Islamist junta, and of course any labor-affiliated elements , and any disliked groups- the wiki mentions feminists (such as the 1.5 million strong Gerwani organization dissolved due to the coup) and atheists among the victims as well.
The wiki page mentions the CIA basically sending hit lists to the army during the killings, but I know I've read before about the documented actions of western corporations as well (which were also, predictably, doing exactly the same- sending hitlists of union members, of "roadblocks" to corporate exploitation like, say, dissenting villages and communities, etc...)
As a Canadian, this exposes (not that it takes much to do so) the myth of liberal "democracy." It's not a system of popular rule, it's a system of cleverly positioned false compromises and manufactured positions, in order to ensure that the people believe that they are being ruled by their own consent, while at the same time actually denying the people of their actual demands and most vital needs. It's perhaps the biggest scam in history.
Watched the ICJ ruling. Wholly disappointing IMO- they essentially gave a "warning" and requested Israel report back in a month. No mention of even the possibility of a ceasefire, no statement as to whether Israel's acts and its government's statements have constituted a genocide, simply a request for Israel to essentially ensure it does not.
The ruling was never going to change Israel's actions anyways (but now it appears it cannot even bring itself to try), but if there is any little justice to be had in this, it is that the court has surely ruled against its legitimacy in all future rulings- maybe they will change their tune in time (doubt it) but there can be no justice to be had in Brussels, just another imperialist farce.
It's probably the other way around- English is the result of Germanic invaders from these regions (well mainly Denmark) going and creating their own mutt of a language while they were busy terrorizing Celts.
