Ah, so he's done this sort of thing before. Repeat behavior, unapologetic and doubling down on it. This should take the Spanish FA less than 24 hours to kick him out and issue an apology statement for having kept him on for as long as they did.
Why would they? It's takes work with no return. It's giving something of value (theoretically) for nothing in return, not even good relations for the restaurant since they are now gone.
Caffeine doesn't require a laboratory or manufacturing operations. It can come from plants. What would happen is people start growing and developing an underground caffeine distribution network and underground caffeine import network from countries that aren't dumb.
Weed users are less than 20% of the US population and that was a shadow industry bigger than most legal industries. Compare to 60% drink coffee every day, then there's tea drinkers and of other caffeinated beverages; people would riot and/or go underground to get their caffeine.

I want the app to open to frontpage, aka only the communities I subscribed to, sorted by New. I want it to take zero clicks to get here; I just want to open the app and have it there.
Apps are updating rapidly of course, but the last time I went through the main Lemmy apps on Android, the best one still took two clicks to get to my preferred view every time I close and relaunched the app.
They were already broken, I just gave the ok to throw them out. They had been sitting there for more than half my lifetime, no one was doing anything with them, near as anyone could tell I was now the "owner" of them, I wasn't going to waste my time investigating 15 year old problems. So I said, "sure, make them disappear".

I want to hear about what the contaminant was. I saw in another article that these are additive manufactured parts; they take powder metal, use a laser to fuse it together, and 3D print the parts building up layer by layer. Any extra metal powder is collected, sent to a company for cleaning/testing/certifying and then recycled through to use in the printers again.
So was the contaminant there from the beginning or was it introduced into the powder at some point as it cycled through? What does their readacross look like; are there other parts out there that potentially have similar contamination? I hope they eventually disclose way more detail and progreas as the investigation continues.
Easy to see anecdotally, hard to define quantitatively. Reddit is never going to publicize that sort of thing as a metric: "ratio of bot activity to subscribed member activity" would be great but we'll never see those numbers.
Their user numbers are available with a web search. Reddit useage dipped towards end of June but has mostly leveled out.
Quite a few mods left, which has had a larger impact than an equal number of general users leaving would. The niche topic sub I was involved in went from four mods to one half-hearted mod. The quality of posts has dropped. Almost every comment thread contains complaints. Reports are piled up.
Most surprising to me when I peeked at the sub this weekend was the amount of borderline-incel desperation and negativity. The sub is for a hobby that while slightly male majority, we had plenty of women contributing with minimal problems. Not anymore. If I were a woman looking at that sub for the first time, I would probably block it. It is so depressing and angry now, I barely recognize it.
It's the one listed in the article that I see in daily life. It also has a reputation of being progressive, with their advocacy for LGBT+ rights and support of Bernie Sanders.
