  • cluckenbouche it is! The new trend in party food. I feel like I need to make this happen in real life.

  • I'll have popcorn chicken stacked like croquembouche, drizzled with BBQ sauce and honey mustard mayonnaise, please. A big tower for everyone to share.

  • all bacon is good bacon

  • I am exhausted.

  • I bought headlight globes at SuperCheap last year. They were supposed to be extra long lasting, which turned out to only be two months. They also didn't seem to be as bright as they should have been. I got more expensive Phillips ones sourced from somewhere else to replace them and was much happier, they were brighter and still going strong when I traded the car in.

  • I went past one last night that's generally around the middle of the trend and it had already gone up. The tank was getting pretty empty after a couple of long drives so I put nearly 50 litres in, it would have been $27 more expensive to fill up at the more expensive one. Well worth a couple of minutes wait time.

  • I went to fill up before the petrol prices all jumped 60c, apparently everyone else was doing the same. The queue was out onto the road.

I also grabbed a few essential groceries while I was out - milk, coffee, cat food and cheese.

Edit: just looking at the receipt it appears I also bought "salted butt". My hot cross buns slathered with butt tasted pretty good 🤣

  • The Hello Fresh meal kits arrive today, which will take me through the move and the first days in the new house. Breakfasts and half the lunches are already sorted too, I just need to add in some random sandwiches.

Today I will try to finish all the packing inside & get the shed packed up. Working tomorrow for a rest, then Sunday will be packing up all the last minute stuff. I'm feeling a lot better about my packing progress after taking a van load to the new house yesterday, I was able to take a bunch of hard to pack stuff up in bags and I have a bit more space in the second bedroom to actually move and finish the packing in there.

Mr Woof and Miss Meow are both being given a food additive that is supposed to be calming (some sort of milk protein, a lady at work swears by it) and Miss Meow has Feliway spray, diffuser and Gabapentin for the moving day. They may end up calmer about the whole thing than me!

  • 2/10

I knew absolutely none of the answers. I just guessed B for everything.

  • Welcome back YarraByte! I hope you had a nice long weekend.

  • I think trying to find any single draughts in my place would be futile, there are so many of them. Plus they mingle with the radiating cold coming through the walls and windows.

I'm looking forward to the new place being both double glazed and drought proof - everything is very well sealed and weather stripped there. I'm hoping as well as the temperature benefits it will mean less dust inside.

  • All these people running around with sharp objects. Did their parents miss teaching them the don't-run-with-scissors lesson, or did it not sink in properly? I get nervous walking while holding anything vaguely pointy, running while holding a machete is definitely not happening.

  • I wonder what would happen if a second seagull tried to stand on an already occupied rock. Would it by like when a person stands too close in your personal space and you back up and end up being walked across the room? I'm envisaging an ongoing chain reaction of seagulls moving from rock to rock to rock.

  • I had a terrible nightmare last night. I accidentally bought International Roast instead of Vittoria Coffee. It was a really big tin.

  • Way more than can fit in the van, this is definitely removalist territory. I have managed to disassemble some furniture to clear a bit more space, and I think I can move the lounge to get a bit more.
