It's possible. It's also possible that she did nothing at all but is a compulsive liar in general which makes her look guilty.
Buy my take (not that I've been following closely) is that it is far more likely that she's absolutely guilty and too stupid to understand that people can see through her lies. I'd put the alternative possibilities into the category of technically possible, but so unlikely I wouldn't consider it reasonable to entertain them (i.e. beyond reasonable doubt).
But I have carved out a few livable areas, and am working on getting a few more done. Having been able to set up things like the bed frame, dining table and fridge before I moved has definitely made a big difference.
A Bunnings trip might be on the cards very soon, I'm going to need a lot more extension cords! And I still need to get numbers for the letterbox.
I ordered a second remote for the garage door, which was not as expensive as I feared. I also ordered another security camera to go in the garage - I'm not used to having a remote opening door and I find myself fretting that it might be open any time I can't see it. I know it's silly, but it's like when you have to keep checking you locked the door, my own minor touch of OCD.
Our morning walk was a bit brisk this morning, but the sun is now coming out and it's shaping up to be a very nice day. Miss Meow has found herself a very good hiding spot in the future sewing room - if she hadn't had her eyes open I would not have known she was there. Mr Woof is still a bit unsure about the new dog door and needs prompting to use it. I thought the security camera might have some video of him using it this morning, but all you can see is my arse as I'm leaning over encouraging him, and the audio is all me going, "that's it, push! push!" like a crazy dog door midwife 🤣
Breaking news: Miss Meow has trialled her window hammock. It was apparently a good place for some after breakfast grooming. She has now disapeared again, either for more box exploration or maybe just going back to bed.
Mr Woof has also successfully navigated the dog door for the first time this morning. He's now napping on my lap, which he fully deserves after the big day yesterday - it's very stressful for a security dog to see a bunch of people tresspass onto your territory and steal absolutely everything.
I looked up the weather radar, thought there was lots more rain incoming, then realised I'm looking at completely the wrong side of Melbourne! The rain's pretty much past Ballarat now and it's looking likely to be clear. Another cup of coffee and then I'll rug up to take Mr Woof out on his first neighbourhood orientation walk.
I think it's going to be an early night tonight. Mr Woof "helped" make the bed. The new bed frame fits around the mattress quite tighly compared to the old one, it should help to keep the sheets in place much better.
I had pretty much everything I need for the first night and tomorrow packed and labeled to make things as easy as possible, but completely forgot about my slippers. They are packed in a box with all my shoes, which I think is somewhere in the garage. Fortunately my parting gift from work included some nice fluffy warm socks with grippy soles to wear inside, and I know where that basket is.
The moving guys were very efficient, and my sister was absolutely fabulous and kept Mr Woof out of trouble for me. He and Miss Meow are a bit perplexed as to what is going on and where we are, but doing ok. I will need to try to clear some boxes before dinner so there is somewhere to feed them. Also need to set up their water fountain and make my bed.
I still can't believe just how many boxes of stuff I have.
I thought to start the day with coffee and realised I have packed my teaspoons. I was able to find the emergency teaspoon from my work lunchbag, so complete disaster was averted.
Miss Meow is currently chomping on her drugged breakfast. Wobbles and confinement to follow.
I have absolutely no idea how all that stuff possibly fitted in the shelves and cupboards, I am convinced everything must expand as it goes into the box.
I've been thinking it's just a couple more boxes needed for about four boxes now, and the kitchen cupboards still aren't empty 😭
And once I finish the kitchen I still have a laundry cupboard, the bedroom and some shed/garden stuff to do. I think I underestimated how much physical effort this takes. When I was younger and fitter I could have got this done a lot quicker.
Oh yeah, I still have to do a final clean of the fridge and freezer too.
Would you have any soup to spare, by any chance? I was hoping for a bowl of Vietnamese noodley goodness from chef, but the witch told me to Pho off, it's all hers.
Just a few more hours and I'll be finished up working in my current office. Twenty years with some of these people, it doesn't feel quite real yet to be leaving.
There has been a lot of food and some lovely gifts. All warmth themed, as befits a move to Ballarat. Plus an ice scraper for the car windscreen!
I've been trying to work out how you would hold the thing together. If serving cold melted cheese would work. For hot all I can come up with is a special mold and a really big deep fryer that can fry it all in one piece.
