  • I agree it has helped the us economy. Wow we are the real heroes here.. Europe now turns to us for gas/energy … military contracts getting filled… ohh who cares about the actual Ukrainians dying at least they are not US citizens ..

  • Sorry for the assumption but my comment still stands in terms of what is a realistic beneficial outcome for Ukraine at this point? Clearly China, India (probably others) are helping Russia keep its ammo stocks and munitions filled.

    Other than a negotiated settlement we can have either world war 3 with NATO intervening … or we can just drag this out for 5-10 years at an enormous cost and literally 100,000’s of dead Ukrainians.

  • Yes because they cannot win on the battlefield and have lost an enormous amount of lives. Just because Russia is adversary to the US does not mean we should send 100,000’s of young people to the grave. (Meanwhile safe over in the states we wave Ukrainian flags and call them heroes as we leave them dead or mangled)

    So yes reaching a compromise even if Russia was the aggressor is in the best interest of the people left in Ukraine.

    Would you rather use our weaponry and intelligence and money to prolong this war for 10 years … just to have the same outcome but 20x the number of casualties?

  • Where is the off ramp here? Despite billions and constant propaganda Russia is not going to lose this war on the battlefield.

    How much money and how many people are we going to just send to their deaths just because prolonging the conflict weakens an adversary to US.

    It’s really sad :(

  • Makes you wonder if the corporate elite class uses this issue (and other) just as a tool for control. Easy divide and move a population back and forth on hot push button topic. Meanwhile the top 1 percent.. investment bank continue to hoard all wealth as we see it stripped away by inflation.

    I will vote for a glib, anti union, pro corporate generic candidate because he / she “strongly” supports (or not) abortion.

    Yes this is a cynical take and the abortion issue is important … just cannot shake the issue is in a continual cycle to keep people divided, distracted as they get poorer and work harder.
