I'm considering a projector with a mini pc as my living room TV. I only ever do movie nights and the occasional big show that pops up for me. Everything else is my pc or audio stuff on my phone anyways.
They're already doing what you mentioned in your last post. The screen saver scrolls and has a cityscape with billboards. Those billboards have ads on them.
I might need to go back and find sources but I could have sworn I read a thing that had Kim directly saying that it isn't allowed among the general populace because it's full of US propaganda. Same reason why jeans aren't allowed.
Edit: I want to clarify that I would prefer the general populace had the internet so they could more easily educate themselves but AFAIK they don't.
Yep that's why I've always thought it was weird people dislike targeted ads. I prefer watching a well made gaming or weeb ad vs feminine hygiene or car ads.
I don't mind the targeted ads but I do hate the pushy ads that are unavoidable and that's why I use unblock etc. Banner ads didn't bother me much, the tiny strip of ad at the bottom of my lemmy app doesn't bother me cause it supports the creator. The unskipable video ads and pop ups when I'm browsing do annoy me.
I might have to look for that, I played it right before it got shut down, my download opened and I was able to do a min or two of the tutorial but then it just kept crashing. Then a couple weeks later I saw the announcement that it was shutting down.
I agree with you but to be fair our prison system is terrible at rehabilitation. Sure it works sometimes but it's not their main focus.
Did you read about the prison that is denying everyone in person visits so they can charge money for phone calls and video calls? They're getting a kick back from the companies whk run those systems. Fucking gross.
Damn wtf, that's truly unfortunate bud. Thanks for letting us know though, it'll help us steer clear of that brand. I'm also looking for a new dumb TV to use as a monitor for streaming in my living room. I'm just gonna hook up a mini pc to it and call it a day. Wireless mouse and mini keyboard is all I'll need.
Last time I used gimp was like 6 years ago so take my opinion with a grain of salt but I do feel Photopea is easier to use.
I have no idea which one is more powerful but for the average lowly user like myself Photopea has had all I need and then some. It's also a browser only application which for me is a boon but I can see some people preferring a download instead. I would recommend going on the site and messing around a bit to get a feel, it's free to use.
The cerveza crystal edit wasn't a meme edit. Iirc it was a totally legit copy of the movie aired in Chile decades ago when they got the rights to air the movie on their local TV. They wanted to make extra money and that company paid the TV station to do in movie product placements. They're hilarious.
I wouldn't recommend any TCL older than 5 years. No idea about new ones but I used to sell and install them and they all just sucked. The video quality was mid and they had a weird input delay that made them annoying to use. These were tvs that were new out of the box.
Dude I did it on my previous pc and it was super aids to fully remove it. Never again, I'm sticking with Foss as much as possible now.
Photopea is great as a photoshop alternative for anyone who isn't a professional.
That's interesting. I wonder if there's more data centers in colder areas that take advantage of the local weather to cool.
