  • Nah, Mantis + Luna or Cloak and Dagger with one prioritizing the other, alternating ults, and 4 damage is basically unstoppable. Maybe self healing wasn't the correct term, but rather healing that healers can do to other healers, but also Jeff's self heal specifically needs a change. He is already basically Ant Man by making his hitbox basically a single pixel, there is no reason he should be un-divable because he can just swim and get his own bubbles.

I myself being a Peni main, am consistently dealing and blocking the most amount of damage in a match, but matches with Mantis + pick any other healer in the way I mentioned are unstoppable, regardless of who my other teammates play. They just heal each other too well. And when both healers are unkillable, 4 damages can stay up almost all the time.

  • McGowan also revealed that during his time at Bungie, the company had approximately 1,600 employees. Earlier this year, CEO Pete Parsons confirmed that the workforce now stands at “850 team members building Destiny and Marathon.” This indicates a staggering workforce reduction of nearly 47% within just one year.

This seems really disingenuous to say. I don't like Pete, or modern Bungie at all really, but he only said 850 working on Destiny and Marathon. This would leave an undisclosed number of people working on other projects at Bungie, and would also not include administrative and other employees not directly working on Destiny or Marathon. So that doesnt mean a 47% workforce reduction, because there is an unknown additional number of employees that are being left out of the equation, likely on purpose to inflate how bad Bungie looks.

  • Trust me, players will really like it if you would please nerf Jeff's ultimate and healer self-healing expeditiously.

EDIT: Also the former Hello Neighbor developer was not helping AH balance HD2 properly. Je wasnt taking guns away, he was ripping them.out of your hands and throwing them across the galaxy so you would never think to use them again. They were too heavy handed, there is no way any sensible person can dispute that. Additionally, about making enemies harder, no, that is another thing that AH thought was smart for some reason but was what almost killed the game when like 90% of players left.

  • Yeah, I dont know about this one, chief. Initially I was kind of on board with it, I really liked some of the Alien-esque designs and seeing some of the logos of various companies was interesting. Particularly Porsche as a ship designer, and I liked the shaders they showed for the CRT technology. But then they showed the cockpit of the Porsche and I literally said out loud "Holy crap, that ship is huge, Porsche would never make something that massive."

From the initial shots I was expecting something more or less the size of a fighter jet, not something that dwarfs a Lun-class ekranoplan.

I thought it might be some kind of take on F-Zero or Cowboy Bebop where the player is a race-driver by day, vigilante bounty hunter by night type of game. Which was pretty cool to me. But then the longer I watched the worse it got. The bounty dispatcher or whatever is a woman version of budget Snake Plissken and a smoker, but the voice actor sounded like she was lifted from a 1940s movie and had never smoked a day in her life (rare, I know, but still). I expected at least a hint of gruffness from her character and got absolutely zero of that. The main character was fine I guess, kind of bland so not really much for me to comment on.

I need to see more to really make up my mind on it, but as it is I am leaning on passing this one up. Plus its a Sony game and I just don't like Sony at all. Also, all the logos kinda felt advertisey by the end of the preview.

  • Not on Lemmy though.

    Also, Pro Tip:

Sometimes you can occasionally make a comment you know will be taken negatively so that you can update your block list of people who choose to leave mean replies. It helps to phrase it in a way that will create an emotional response. This is helpful for removing these people from your feed, because usually they leave negative comments like that on every reply they make. Very rarely do I find a person that is nice in most of their comments leaving a mean one, like ever. But also it is very rare I find these kind of people in the first place anymore.

  • So did I, but I mean, given the current game development climate, Ciri was an extremely predictable pick.

Not only is Ciri a woman, which modern games seem to be making super majority of main protagonists these days, but she also has market familiarity. Her character is recognizable and therefore has a builtin audience, where a new character does not.

  • Perhaps. Its not that I don't like turn based games, and its not that I am not trying out JRPGs either. For example, I like X-COM, Jean dArc on PSP, and Tuned Hearts on PC98. I suppose these are more tactical or strategic than traditional JRPGs, but regardless I don't feel bored or tired of the combat in those games.

Ive tried Octopath Traveler, and I really like its art style bu I just don't enjoy the combat. Admittedly, I felt the same with Chrono Trigger, which is a shame since it is so well regarded. Ive also tried Dragon Quest 11, which I did not finish. Ive even tried playing some of the Wizardry games, but once the combat starts it doesn't keep my interest.

I like Yakuza but Like a Dragon didn't appeal to me.because of its combat. Likewise with Persona, I just don't feel drawn to the game because I know it has a turn based combat system. I did try Persona 1, but I know that game is very different from the more recent Persona games. I tried The Legend of Dragoon, and while I was only in combat twice as part of scripted events, it seemse like maybe the combat will be a bit less repetitive but only time will tell.

  • Well, with regards to Koudelka, I am specifically referring to the mechanic in many JRPGs by which combat is initiated randomly, without the player ever interacting, colliding with, or even seeing a visible enemy. One moment you are walking, and the next you are in combat. You never had the option to not be in combat, you just get vortexed in. Chrono Trigger and many Final Fantasy games operate this way as well. Its not that they feel out if place, they are annoying because they interrupt what I was doing. In BG3, PoE2, and even Dragon Quest, enemies are visible. You basically never enter combat randomly.

Now, with regards to Dragon Quest, I found the music always being the same was too repetitive. Combat always felt the same regardless of what enemies I faced or where. At least I could choose when I enter combat, which is probably why I made it as far into the game as I did (got to the mermaid queen and stopped shortly after).
