  • They want to make sure students in Florida aren't indoctrinated with facts supported by evidence because that's fucking woke.

That's literally the definition of indoctrination, which is ironic considering that is what they are purportedly trying to prevent.

  • Don't forget they are also Scientologists™

  • This is all painfully common knowledge.

I'm not trying to discount or undermine your main points because I think they are entirely accurate. However, I think you are vastly overestimating how informed, intelligent, and empathetic the average US citizen is. I would be shocked if half the country was even broadly aware of what was going on in Gaza enough to even have an opinion about it, let alone be outraged.

  • I know, but my assumption was that because of the significant added civil and criminal scrutiny, as well as the sheer volume of credit that would be necessary there is no way he would be able to sidestep the emoluments clause this time. Perhaps that is wishful thinking, but I doubt it because a personal debt of hundreds of millions of dollars is an animal of a different color.

  • The other problem for him is that he is likely going to be barred from securing financing from any New York based financial institutions as he is facing down a lifetime ban from conducting business in the state along with disincorporation.

That leaves him with an even bigger problem, which is that taking money from an outside financial entity that is controlled by another state actor would potentially further disqualify him from office under the emoluments clause.

  • Well, technically it isn't a trial. It is an evidentiary hearing, but I understand what you mean. I think the ultimate point here is to put this on public display so it leaves no doubt about the impeachability of this case if and when it gets to trial.

If Willis and Wade survive this inquiry without being removed from the case, which I believe is absolutely the most likely outcome after seeing the testimony today, they are going to fuck up these defendants world.

There is going to be a reckoning with all these fucktard defendants falling all over themselves to avoid ending up in Georgia State Prison. It's time to buckle up because the screws are tightening, which means shit is only going to get crazier from here on out.

  • That's just it. I don't expect anyone to revolt until the suffering people are experiencing vastly outweighs the price of revolution. Even then, it may not happen. Until humanity loses its desire to fight and die over petty differences rather than focusing our resources on preserving civilization in a more efficient, equitable fashion then we are just headed towards guaranteed extinction on a much shorter timeline than most people are willing to accept. I do not wish for violent revolution, but I am willing to accept that it may be either necessary or inevitable.

  • Yes, they are fucking traitors to humanity. Unfortunately, so are large swaths of the population. So, now what?

Until a large enough percentage of the population of this planet is willing to suffer the consequences of reforming society, the strategic balance will always favor the consolidation of power into fewer and fewer hands. Revolution is and always has been the only viable option to save our species from a dystopian future, as far as I can tell anyway.

  • The only way Republicans would consider gun control is if the mass shooting was done by Taylor Swift and Joe Biden whilst holding hands and wearing pride flag t-shirts...

  • I've been saying this for more than ten years. It is insane to me that this concept has not become mainstream or widely accepted. It is clear that China is using Fentanyl as a social destabilization mechanism against the West. It is one of the many methods they are employing in their death by a thousand cuts strategy.

  • Oh I know. I agree with your points. I just personally find it disheartening to realize that Donald Trump might be allowed back in the White House due to less than 1% of the vote in a handful of states. The Electoral College has got to fucking go.

  • It doesn't matter that half the people didn't vote for him.

It's even worse than that. In 2020 only (66%) of the voting age population voted, which was the highest turnout since at least 1990. In most midterm elections the voter turnout is often less than (50%). So Donald Trump could conceivably win the presidency after only receiving votes from (1/3) of the voting age population, which is completely fucking insane.

  • God damnit, you beat me to the punch 😆 Have an upvote, for it is all I have to give.

  • I came here to say this, but you beat me to the punch while simultaneously defending my internet honor. So, thank you!

  • Joe Biden could also just revoke Donald Trump's citizenship, which would then make him ineligible for office, and then deport him from the country. That would be simultaneously effective, and also completely hilarious.

  • This is doubtful. The Supreme Court fully understands that ruling the President has absolute immunity will serve to permanently undermine their own power. There is no material benefit to the Supreme Court in waiting to rule on this case, and every reason for them to make a hasty decision affirming the lower courts finding or simply refusing to hear the case altogether. Regardless of their own personal politics, it is extremely unlikely that the Supreme Court will make ANY rulings that serve to undermine or limit the authority of the judiciary.

  • The one thing I have noticed is the proliferation of overly niche communities rather than congregating in larger hubs and then organizing into smaller communities as the userbase scales.
