  • Oh yeah, it's not that many months ago California used prison labor to put out fires for next to no pay.

  • A big lithium deposit was found in Oregon recently. I can't wait to see the mining workforce being brought in from other countries because Americans don't have the skills to do it themselves.

  • I didn't expect to find sønderjysk here..

  • What if you're feeling really kinky and want anticheat to penetrate your kernel?

  • This video was recommended to me many hours ago by the YT algorithm, and I really wanted to see some SimCity2000 content, in particular just hearing some soothing SC2K tunes, but instead it's a video primarily about Apple hardware problems. I'm sure this is interesting to Apple cultists, but I was thoroughly disappointed.

  • While I haven't played Minecraft for a year, that's probably the hardest to give up.

  • Have you tried mancotting?

  • Get it before the authors get sued into the afterlife by Nintendo!

  • So the quote was about the American secret service?

  • Stairs like this might deter the Boston Dynamics robo dogs the police will eventually start using in 10 years time.

  • I still use ctrl+ins and shift+ins every now and then. I've hit ctrl+shift+c a few times while in my browser (Vivaldi) which unfortunately is bound to "create note". Ctrl+ins is a great workaround than using an extra neuron when in a terminal to also hit shift when copying.

  • Rough, less than 3 weeks from hitting 100. I actually didn't know it was that close.

  • And that's why her winning a workplace harassment lawsuit makes sense. Or "workplace detriment" as they call it here.

  • A friendly tip: From what I've seen, it's definitely better to get the net installer to the openSUSE leap beta. And yeah, give Q4OS a try in a VM, Trinity is quite wonderful. XPQ4 as a proof of concept theme pack showcases amazingly what you can do theming-wise in Trinity.

  • In August 2021, members of Rooke’s team took a Star Wars themed Myers-Briggs questionnaire as a team-building exercise.

    I'd hate working there.

Rooke did not participate as she had to take a personal phone call but when she returned a colleague, Amanda Harber, had filled it out on her behalf and announced that she had the same personality type as Vader – real name Anakin Skywalker.

It makes sense she'd be pissed.

  • My friends and I would often do a night run at the local computer café which was fairly cheap. I'm glad I was a teen at the time, I definitely wouldn't enjoy being awake all night nowaday, but fun times indeed.

  • I was wondering why my DNS filter blocked presstv.ir and even Wikipedia isn't giving them a glowing review. Although wikipedia's sources are American outlets so that's to be expected of an Iranian news site I guess.

  • In Denmark we had a service called "Miss Time" (Frøken Klokken) where you could dial 155 and get the time. You could just about get the current time in a phone booth without needing to pay, which I used pretty regularly during my paper route. The service ran between 1939 and 2021, but one can still experience it digitally here which is pretty cool: https://froekenklokken.enigma.dk/

  • I swear I had just gotten the bugsnax song out of my head. Back to square one.

    Kinda bug and kinda snack
Try to catch 'em in your trap
    Feed somebody and you'll see
    We are whatever we eat
