I forget that the US exists outside time and space. As long as 90% of Europe has some prized tomato-based dish, I will laugh at the ideas of foods having a "place".

Food is a cornerstone of culture and one thing that will always be true is that culture is an ever changing landscape rather than some strict index thats easily sorted.

It's like a universal rule that the size of the exclamation is inversely correlated to the side of the mistake.

Ex: "Motherfucker!" Would probably follow something like a stubbed toe, or losing a game to a little mistake. Whereas a tiny little "whoops" is probably going to burn down buildings.

If there isn't a name for the phenomena, there should be.

That sounds like a disability and definitely is not normal. Far from a "counter-example", especially when the overwhelming evidence is that being sedentary IS harmful

Ahhh ISS. The truest of punishments. We had to help the janitors as part of ISS. Good luck catching up on missed schoolwork at home despite being in school all day, all while watching your friends have fun while you empty the next trash can.

Catholic schools still hit kids, iirc. Fairly certain it's legal in private schools. (In AZ)

Need to remember that with grandparents in particular, he has a skewed view. He was raised by the parents of his drug addict mom, he doesn't have the "normal" frame of reference and may not realize that ALL grandparents are generally expected to (and most want to, in my experience) help with their grandchildren if they can.

It's not that it makes you fall, it's just a non-lever. If you sit on your ass plant your feet flat, then try and pull on your ankles to help yourself up, you'll get the same effect where it's actively a hindrance to getting up.

I think it's those 34 felonies that don't matter tho. We allow felons to run for a very good reason and it's pretty big insurance that a wannabe dictator can't just achieve full takeover by having all his opponents convicted of crimes.
