  • it it does not need a gui, use docker and log in into it. do the stuff and when you are done, docker rm and everything disappear.

    you can enable cuda inside the container, follow the docs for that.

    bonus point, vs code can open itself inside a container.

  • no, i think sync does not block communities you filter. so it will work only inside sync.

    i hope the devs of lemmy and sync will agree on some standard so all the filters are done server side.

  • i would not, if you want to do hard drugs you can. in a controlled environment with a doctor nearby. of course you will have to pay for that.

    if you ban it, people that want it no matter what will crate an illegal market for it.

  • lemmy.world is pretty crowded. consider moving to a smaller instace. the overall experience should be better, less lag, less downtime etc.

    you can sync the subscriptions, but you need to do it manually with a script / program.

  • btrfs and you get snapshots, the ability to send subvolumes around + compression and a ton of other stuff.

    be aware that to configure a good layout in btrfs you will need to do that manually, follow the arch wiki and you will be ok.
