  • I feel like the one thing preppers miss the necessity of often is social skills. If you're adept at befriending people and getting them to work together you're all going to be better off. We're all humans and working together is how we made what we have.

  • It was Slackware... Back in the late 90s. Do not ask me about how kid me managed that, all I recall is endless terminals, kernel panics and eventually getting a desktop through some arcane means I can't remember.

    I didn't return to linux for many years after that experience.

    I still have the 1996 edition of Slackware Linux Unleashed and the CD in my bookshelf as a reminder.

  • I refuse to drive or take any form of public transport, unless I am going to be traveling far.

    I walk or bike everywhere I go. I get to where I am going and I get exercise along the way. I barely think about it anymore, it has just become normal to me.

  • I very much doubt they care at this point. No one is trying to stop them. They could do it in broad daylight for every satellite to pick up, claim it is "construction work" and way too many would eat it up and run with it.
