  • Because that roads leads to war. The moment one country decides it has the authority to overule another's sovereignity because they disagree with what's going on there, it becomes a free for all.

This line of thinking is the very reason why there are two Koreas today, because of two superpowers who thought they knew better and could make a nice profit in the process.

We have a word for this: Colonialism.

  • Medieval people totally knew how to boil water and leave salt behind, and the most basic bread was probably an accidebtal discover when people used to put hard grains in water to soften them, someone had the idea to ambush them first

People back then were just as smart as people now. Knowledge accumulates slowly over time and that's that limits progress. We discover things slowly but once we know them we discover even bigger things I'm a feedback loop.

  • While I'm down for eating the billionaires, this sounds awfully close to punishing people for being successful.

I agree it disproportionally affects poor people, but rather than scaling the punishment, maybe the answer is to look for non punitive measures that produce the same result.

  • The real answer is: It depends how you define value.

Can you make money with Bitcoin? Yes. Are you likely to make money? No Is the technology useful applicable? Yes Is it being used and applied ethically and for the good of people? No. Is it a 'store of value'? No, it's more like an extremely volatile stock or a lottery ticket. Can you use it like money? Yes Is there any reason to use it like money? Not really, not even among other cryptocurrencies.

Depending on which of these aspects of Bitcoin matter to you it will be more or valuable.

  • I don't know what to tell you. If this metaphor qualifies as a 'detailed and clear' depiction of sex for you, sure I guess? I see what you're saying in that case.

Maybe I've just been exposed to more clear and detailed written depictions of sex lol.

  • Ah. We clearly had different experiences of high school. Lmao.

So is it or is not explicit btw? Does it contain 'detailed and clear depictions of sexual acts, including'? Because you seem to lean into whatever is the opposite of what I say lol. But we're taking about OP.

  • No Stupid Questions @lemmy.world

    How do I create a new /thing? (a sublemmy?)
