  • I will never buy another Samsung anything ever again. Their hardware is fine, but they're so bad at software. I had a Samsung TV until recently that was just unbelievably slow to turn on, switch inputs, and move through settings on.

    Samsung is crap overall.

  • You say that, but vehicle and collision sensors on mirrors are legitimately an amazing safety feature that should be standard on all models. Those sensors have personally saved me a couple times when someone comes up next to me when I'm trying to change lanes.

  • Yeah but my loans weren't canceled!!! /s

Legitimately the argument that came out of my mother's mouth.

I don't understand the selfishness of not wanting loans cancelled for people. That money just ends up back in the economy because it's no longer going straight to the banks.

  • Really all they have are "whataboutisms." They did this with Obama when criticizing Trump, they're doing it with Biden, they did it with Hillary.

They never address the problems of their party, it's always about what the other guy is doing, which is usually entirely made up.

  • Marketing and reality are two different things. It's definitely not a superior experience. When Apple's stuff stops working, and it frequently does, the user has zero control to fix anything. Instead, they're shoehorned into having no recourse other than to use Apple's support, making them entirely dependent on the company in order to use their device.

Apple purposely hamstrings the user experience to exert control over users.

  • It's so easy to forget Luna exists. I feel like 1) it's just not advertised anywhere, and 2) that nobody talks about it.

Do people even use it? I can't imagine it's going to last all that long if even Google can't make it work.

  • People who don't understand that the left lane is for passing and that you need to move over when you're not passing.

It's so frustrating to be driving behind someone who is going the same speed as the person next to them on a two-lane road.

  • I had to look that word up because I don't hear it very often. It's a really bad usage here. Firebrand implies someone who wants to change things and is passionate about a cause.

BOBO and the rest of the MAGA clan don't have a cause, they just want to incite chaos, be disruptive and petulant, and enable racists.

  • I was charged $40 for a late fee the day the payment was due when I'd made a payment within the same month.

Explain to me how I'm late for a payment due on March 4th, when the last payment I made was on Feb 16th. Is that Feb payment not for the upcoming due date‽ This shit is absolutely nuts.

  • The cities look SO MUCH nicer without cars. More open, less crowded (probably because of a much lower population, but there's way more space), and it's likely a whole lot quieter.

Not sure about air quality because they had basically no regulations on industrial pollution, but I can't imagine it would be all that bad when away from the factories.

I wish we could just get rid of cars, honestly.

Edit: I'd never thought about firemen using horse-drawn carriages to get around to fight fires, but it makes perfect sense. It's just funny to see!

  • We forget that on the other end of scams are real people with real problems, morals, and lives. The person on the other end of your scam probably started to feel bad and helped you out. And likely that person is being forced into performing these scams on people.

There's an excellent "Search Engine" podcast episode about this that came out recently called "Who's behind these scammy text messages we've all been getting." It's well worth a listen because it dives into all the slavery and human trafficking involved in modern scams that people aren't aware of.
