  • Somehow NixOS really is like a fucking crack. I had like a 6 months non-stop hyperfixation about configuring everything using NixOS and Home Manager. Almost every evening. Now I have a polished setup of my personal and work laptops, homelab server and a VPS. And I have no regrets, this thing is amazing.

  • Work on Free Open Source Software. Seriously, I fucking love software engineering and I can't really imagine doing anything else with my life. In fact, that's kinda my current plan - work towards financial independence and then work on things that matter to me, on my own terms. I really hope I won't get burned out somewhere in the process.

  • I see. Now that I think about this, it wasn't so nice for the first year afer breaking up with my ex. Still, I enjoyed it before and now I enjoy again.

    Thanks for the explanation!

  • Same as you but both for toenails and fingernails. Fabric catching on a rough edge of freshly cut nail is like the highest level of sensory nightmare for me. Because of this I spend so much time meticulously filing them and I just hate it.

  • I don't know, maybe both are correct indeed. It's just that the post seems to be making a point that only one of the statements is true and I was wondering whether we actually know that.

  • You can absolutely workout at home with almost no equipment. You will need something for pull ups and that's pretty much it. Google "calisthenics" - that's what bodyweight exercises are called. It's a whole world of knowledge with books, blogs and YT channels covering the topic. Many would argue that this type of exercise is actually healthier than using gym equipment.

I started doing this 4 years ago and I can highly recommend it. I hate public places like gym and I don't like wasting time for getting there and back so exercising at home is perfect for me.

  • Agreed. I tried pretty much every other alternative because Joplin's UI seems a bit dated and I'm a sucker for eye candy. But in the end I came back to Joplin. It's really good and the UI actually grows on me too. Not modern and flashy but also not ugly and it works well in practice.
