  • I need rolls of cloth from it like you can get fiberglass, kevlar/aramid, and carbon fiber.

I do wonder about it's strength to weight ratio though.

Like, it's 6x stronger than aramid fiber but if it's 6x heavier then it doesn't really help. Also how's it compare to carbon fiber?

  • With that price I imagine it's freight. Thursday is probably a dedicated truck and Friday-Wednesday is probably on one with several other orders.

If this is some piece of equipment that's replacing a broken one the $700 is probably worth it when the lack of this is possibly costing you thousands of dollars each day that you don't have it, or even worse losing a customer, especially if it doesn't get there 'till Wednesday, since installation could take a couple and then you're out a whole other week.

  • In the summer, at night, we're facing the galactic center. You can see the cloud of uncountable stars held close to the supermassive black hole at the center, and you can see the band of light spanning the sky that it the rest of the disk and arms.

It's the reason the galaxy is called the Milky Way, because those billions of stars looks kinds like somebody spilled milk all across the night sky.

If you are in the darkest parts of the world I think you can still see it a bit in winter but you're looking outward into intergalactic space, so it's much fainter, only showing the stars in our arm that are even further out.

  • I was ready to see the Milkyway in Colorado a few years back but there was wildfire smoke covering the sky the entire time I was there.

I did get to see it just a bit in Arkansas last year(it really wasn't as dark as I'd have liked it). I was doing some long exposures with a camera and my mom says "Wow it's a pretty clear night except for that one cloud..."

  • That would make the locomotive lighter

That's not an advantage. You want your loco to be as heavy as possible for traction. If they were switching it to pantograph and it was lighter they'd add iron, or something else to make up the difference

  • Yeah but that is HIGHLY unusual, so while you do still habe to yield to the firetruck once its intentions are made clear, they still must make sure that everyone is aware of what they're doing and out of the way. If it just whips it over a median and hits someone it's their fault.

  • Which is why "spurious emission" is the proper term to use.

The point where you can call it a "radiation hazard" when talking about RF is if it's at the point where RF Burns are a possibility which a phone is just not capable of.

  • As long as you can keep the evaporator above the evaporation temperature of your compressed refrigerant, you’re golden.

Also keeping the evaporator from getting covered in ice where it doesn't work. Yeah you can defrost but in certain weather it's just going to ice up immediately.

  • Same. Also some people just don't seem to be able to identify any flavor beneath the heat.

My limit is this one Asian food place in Houston. I got some chicken that I didn't realize was hot. Me and my coworkers go back to the office (a very large room). I open that to go box and everyone in the room choked from the heat of just the smell. It was strong even from the other side of this room that's probably 80x80ft room with 40ft ceilings.

I was crying, sweating, turning red, nose running everything. Everybode else was getting a little bit of bloodshot eyes.

Of course then everyone tried convincing me to eat the pepper itself. Ain't no way.

When I was finished we wraped it in like 3 plastic bags and took it outside and down the sidewalk and put it in a trashcan there.

But that was some damn good chicken. 5 stars, would suffer again.

  • Devils advocate: at least in the US they need to get rid of the thing that says sleeping in your car in the parking lot of the bar is a DUI.

That's literally a person doing the responsoble thing but the pigs can't help but salivate over the easy DUI they can add to their "not-a-quota".

It encourages people to drive drunk when they might have slept it off in the car because there's a chance you get away with it, whereas sleeping in the car at the bar is a guaranteed DUI.

  • You gotta leave enough room to react and stick out the side just a bit so you can see in front of it just a bit but also you can stop a lot quicker than them.

I generally don't do it with Semis though, and I probably don't get as close as the people you're thinking of. If I'm on a long trip I'll ushally try to find a fifth wheel camper going roughly the speed I want and I'll set my adaptive cruise to the minimum distance. The campers throw fewer rocks.

Also if you're ever drafting make sure to keep an eye on your temperature. Most of the time it should be fine but a hot day and going uphill it could very easily overheat, especially if you've done some of the other hypermilling mods like partial grille block.
