  • (assuming your home country is USA) You are allowed to purchase games from US websites while you travel. As long as the purchase is linked to your US payment method, with US residence address on the bill, it does not matter where I'm the world you connect from.

You might raise suspicion if you bought something via NL VPN, using Dutch credit card and address. Otherwise you are all good.

  • Microsoft realizes... And promptly moves it to Windows 12.

  • It's amazing how people convinced themselves they need all these platforms in their lives. Meta, X, TikTok, YouTube - they can do whatever they want to their users, and the users just take it.

I've learned to drop social media platforms as soon as they pull shit I'm uncomfortable with and live a happy life, somehow.

  • Where's remind me not when you need one

  • Omfg. I'm in tears imagining the viral vid that would destroy so many childhoods

  • In the immortal words of James Stephanie Sterling "corporations don't just want some money. They want all of the money"

  • This is probably not much help, but instance blocking is a feature on Sync For Lemmy app. Helped me filter out a whole bunch of feddit.xx instances in languages I don't speak.

  • Aww shiiiiit.

I guess when I checked it didn't hit Android play store yet.

This guy is just like all the worst aspects of genX and 90s rolled together.

  • I can agree with that. It may be that ever since I no longer subscribe to the tech elite (LTT, MKBHD, Nexus, Jays2Cents, etc) - I only come across their content when there is drama!

  • Fuck LTT. I stopped watching their content ever since they introduced the "emoting faces" thumbnails. All I say is every time I see tech Jesus these days it's over some drama, affair and exposé.

Exploding components, fire hazards, evil corporate practices. It often feels that if there is no drama happening, Nexus will go out of their way to make one happen. Just like cable news.

  • Yea, but I'm not able to find a single other mention of this supposed resign anywhere - except for people reposting this one. Pop base does not link to any source, either.

  • Funny, but I'm not seeing the grunge update anywhere. Made up?

  • Yea, but ever since Nexus started doing their "investigations", so much of their content looks like cable news. They now jump on all opportunities to drum up more drama.

  • So annoying how all good tech channels now lean on drama and sensationalism to get more engagement.

Digital Foundry seems to be the last one where people are level-headed.

  • Somehow it never crossed their minds to stop selling firearms to teens, but vendor Internet in the name of protecting kids? Sign us up. Fuck that.

Pretty much any bill, worldwide, that includes the phrase "project kids" is always about pushing censorship, government surveillance and other forms of oppression on everyone. And guess what: zero actual benefit to kids.

  • I've spent many an hour playing TQ. Would love to see it in a modern engine, properly evolved for a sequel. Wonder what's the ETA.

  • I could not make it past the first season. It's all looks and no content. They drag out unnecessary bits, mess up the narrative of the original material to make it more "tv friendly".

I'd put it on the same shelf as Amazon's "The Expanse". If you like that, maybe foundation is also your cup of tea. Personally I'm not into either.

  • Wasn't carbon removal an unproven concept? I feel like I watched Climate Town discuss it in one episode, talking about it never actually hitting any meaningful % thresholds...

Just Google CO2 Removal Unproven and scroll past the fossil fuel sponsored articles on top to see multiple reputable sources treating it as basically a tech scam.

  • As a viewer I'd love to have (more than) twice the amount of episodes. Knowing the reality of TV/film production though - it would come at a cost of quality. We'd see filler episodes, we'd have much less elaborate sets, plotlines...

I think quality is better than quantity in most cases.
