That's the one thing that frustrates me the most about these games, too. Minutes fly by like seconds, but the Sims move in realtime! There's never enough time to actually do anything in the game! So I keep my Sims unemployed and just cheat.
Been playing The Sims since 2001; in all those years I have never seen anyone release a timescale mod for any of the games. So when do play, most of my time is spent in Build/Buy mode.
Damn. I don't get enough fish in my diet, and have to take Vitamin D supplements to get enough of that too. I drink too much as well (made a resolution to quit, though; it's been a week without a drink), and have to vape weed every day in order to get tired enough to sleep.
No wonder why I developed arthritis in my early 20s. I just thought it was genetic.
I'm an open format DJ, so I listen to everything except Hick Hop, and that annoying sub-genre of electronic music that consists of little more than someone repeating the same word or phrase over a simple drum beat. Have no idea what it's called, but kids under 30 seem to love it and I just don't understand why.
6:66 at 60% power is my goto for reheating large-ish dishes. 5:55 at 50% for medium-sized ones. 4:44 @ 40% for smaller dishes.
For baked potatoes, cover them in butter or olive oil, rosemary, and some salt, wrap them in foil and stick in the air fryer. Remove the foil for the last 3-4 minutes. Tastes way better than the microwave.
Why a 4090 now? A 5090 costs 11% more but is ~30% faster. If you're going to get a high-end GPU, it's a better bang for your buck.
Other than that, this is the exact PC I would build today if I didn't build one two years ago. I currently have a 7700X, a 4090, 32GB of DDR5 6000, a 4TB WD SN850X NVME, and a Liquid Freezer II 360.
Hasn't affected my life one bit. It people weren't mentioning egg prices on Lemmy, I would have had no idea that there was a shortage.
Never understood everyone's obsession with eggs. There are so many other sources of protein out there. You don't need to perpetually have them in your fridge.
As much as they love to sue people, I don't understand why Nintendo doesn't go after Apple for trademark infringement, so that they're forced to finally come up with a better method of storing folder attributes.
Please, PLEASE adjust the UI to prevent accidental touches. On far too many occasions I mis-tap and end up going to the community instead of the post. Or the User's profile instead of collapsing the comment. Drives me nuts! Those links are already in a separate menu; no need for the redundancy. Tapping anywhere on a post should only ever go to the post. Tapping anywhere on a comment should only ever collapse the comment.
Take a page out of Relay for Reddit, where you swipe to the left on a post or comment to bring up a submenu, and that's where your options to upvote/downvote, reply, view the community/user profile, etc. are. (i.e. Remove the 3 dots and put all those options in such a swipeable menu.) The current swipe gestures should be turned into a "slow swipe" gesture so that people still have the option to set their favorite shortcuts to them.
That's what I say every time people talk shit about BTC, but I still get downvoted anyway because NFTs and meme coins ruined crypto.
