  • I'm trying but the girlfriend refuses. She watches YouTube on the TV and does everything else on her phone; literally only uses the laptop to play The Sims 4 (which her 1080ti can handle just fine), yet she's convinced that she will need a brand new gaming machine with a 4090/5090 as soon as Microsoft dumps WIn10. She's afraid that she'll completely break the OS if she switches to Linux. (Which is plausible, though unlikely.

I'm hoping she'll change her mind as soon as she realizes just how much more GPUs cost these days, especially mobile ones.

  • Can anyone recommend a good multiplayer shooter with a high player population? (Either 2D or VR is fine.) Or any non-MMO, non-role-playing PvP game that is mostly online and has populated servers? Something my 37-year-old ass can just jump into and play a quick match without having to dedicate my life to it?

Getting sick of all the PUBGs, Counter-Strikes, Call of Duties, and Overwatches/Marvel Rivalses. My best gaming memories were during the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 days. I never had more fun in a shooter than when I was playing Rush. But unfortunately EA never managed to recapture that same magic in the sequels. After the 2042 flop I quit Battlefield for good.

  • I went in blind and gave up after about 3 hours. I have no idea what the fuck is going on, which makes it too easy to die to the same thing over and over again, because I can't remember which paths lead to progress and which ones lead to death.

Outer Wilds is a game for normies with a good memory and proper motor skills.

  • Yes I understand that. I never said that they were the same. You don't need R-D to use Stremio, but it's a much smoother experience if you do, cause you can stream instantly without waiting for seeds.

The point I'm making is that any drama involving R-D beefing with trackers doesn't affect the amount of content available on Stremio. Other trackers exist to fill in the gaps. That's all I'm saying.

  • Never had any issues. It works perfectly when I use it with 1337x and TBP.

Dont know why they're beefing with those trackers specifically, but it doesn't affect Stremio's operations one bit. I can still stream any movie or show I want instantly to my TV.

Alas, you can always use a different Debrid service. I simply prefer R-D because it's the most popular, which means that tends to have more content available for instant stream rather than having to wait for seeds. Almost every torrent I want has already been cached by another user for instant download.

  • You're not wrong. I've seen all this before. We always give up and go home eventually. It's the American way.

Remember the BLM protests and their "5 demands"? They tried to copy the Hong Kong protests, but unlike Hong Kong they couldn't even last more than a few days before giving up. Not a single demand was met.

  • That does not affect my opinion of Mozilla one bit. If anything, I applaud them for integrating AI into the browser. Saves me the trouble of having to type in a URL and login to a website to access an AI; I can just hit Ctrl+Alt+X now.

  • Cancel all your subscriptions and look into Stremio + Torrentio + Real-Debrid. For $3/mo you could have any show or movie you want, streamed directly to your TV, without having to wait for it to "come up on streaming".
