While I'm happy that people are taking action in some parts of the county, we need to see more of this happening in red and purple states. I'm not hearing much good news from those places.

I'll add to #2 (IDK if it's open source, though):

Give Stremio a try. Once you set it up (basically just add the Torrentio plug-in then whatever content catalogs you want), the workflow is much better and simpler than Plex.

You just browse it like Netflix: see something you want to watch, select it with your remote, then stream it immediately. No server to run, you don't have to build libraries, you don't even have download the content beforehand. Just select and watch. Could not be easier.

I rather have a foldable. You can find a nice Samsung that's a couple generations old for around $400. Once you get used to having a tablet in your pocket everywhere you go, there's no turning back. Having a large portable screen is especially useful for games and restaurant menus.

YouTube in Firefox with Ublock Origin is getting throttled down to 1500kbps. I can't watch anything above 720p on my desktop anymore (with gigabit internet).

YouTube ReVanced on mobile and SmartTube Next on the TV still thankfully work without issues.

Dunno what to tell you, man. Update and shut down always works perfectly for me. It updates, restarts to finish the update, then shuts down. Works every time.

The only thing I can think of is that you're being impatient and manually shutting he machine down after the restart, instead just letting the OS do its thing.
