Does anyone wonder about how the story of Jesus being plagiarized from the Egyptian myth of Horus affects the narrative about the Jesus that supposedly lived and died a century earlier? You know the one that happened to have incredibly important political value for the established leaders of the time?

Snark aside, I wish we'd stood up for Anthony Weiner. Dude was legit amazing back in the day. Corporate media networks were absolutely gleeful to tear him down and people just watched it happen and laughed the whole time. Then again, I think maybe my values are just more in line with the idea of actually accomplishing political goals (read: legislation and policy) and not so much with making performative gestures that only serve to hurt said political goals. Obviously, in Weiner's case dude committed crimes (iirc), but again he was an incredible politician, which is what he was hired for. Politicians are tools, like doctors and mechanics, they're not our friends; they're fellow citizens that provide a necessary service. I wouldn't let Weiner or my mechanic babysit but that doesn't mean they're not skilled at what they do.

Anyway, we're probably going to just continue arguing about bs like this while the right consolidates power and supports ruthless leaders. All while we're asking/tearing down our leaders what pronouns they use or their opinions on eating steak or who knows what. Else Not saying pronouns and the beef industry/climate change aren't important to some/many people - power to em, for sure - but it seriously feels like people need to get a grip. The distractions are real. We need to focus!

I've been wondering if my company would stop matching my donations going to Save The Children and Jewish Voice For Peace - the latter is apparently quite controversial. Anyone done some of their own research on them and have thoughts to share? I ultimately decided to send em 10 bux, but it's possible there's better causes/groups that help support Palestinians and advocate for a ceasefire and such

I absolutely love the first two seasons. I haven't enjoyed a game like this in years.

It's a bit sweaty but I feel like it can be pretty casual (out of ranked). Like the difference between playing a casual game of soccer or basketball compared to a competitive match of either. It takes strategy, teamwork and good game sense/skills to win a match as opposed to strictly kills. Idk, it's super cool and people should give it a shot

I'm honestly not a fan of the government deciding which version of a religion is correct, and I'm even less into the gov enforcing targeted dress codes. It seems super authoritarian to me and I can't really see how it could be a good thing.

I'd consider myself anti-theist but still, I don't see how you can live in a free society and let the government have that power

That said, I'm open to learning how this could be a positive/negative and whether or not it would create a group of second class citizens.

One difference is there was already value with having a gmail account. What's the point of getting a Microsoft account? The only thing I can see is it makes settings set up/transfer easy between PCs and for reinstalls.

Except, if I'm reinstalling, I can't imagine waiting to copy settings since one of those settings is probably causing a problem and I don't want it to be automatically set for me. I also don't use the Microsoft store so...

Does anyone else actually get value from their Microsoft account? If not, It just feels like it's only purpose is giving them (more) access to your computer. Why would anyone want that?

I'd be happy to place some blame on lazy/disinterested citizens, complicit corporate media networks, the effect of legalized bribery in politics, but to go the other way and actually say you support candidates doing whatever it takes to win is gross
