No I'm not. I'm also not saying it isn't broken. What I'm saying is usually the more people that vote, the more democratic it gets and that people who don't care enough to even figure out who's running in elections are NOT blameless.
Ummm those that didn't vote are also responsible. It IS the people's fault. But they shouldn't see it that way. Either they are ok with fascism or actively crave it. Apparently the majority of us are fascists or think we are.
Yeah, I was kind of wondering if there was a list of countries from which I could choose to be deported to. I mean my parents were American and I was born in America but that doesn't matter anymore, right. It would be great to be deported to someplace nice. I quite liked New Zealand when I visited. Do they take requests?
Yeah, actually sounds like what I do. It can get depressing, but I try not to stay away too long. I don't want to be blindsided by something that might affect me.
A good example is when I got rid of cable TV, I didn't get a lot of local news and wasn't aware until late that a hurricane was heading my way.
I had something similar happen. Had a boss on a job that didn't like me so when the inevitable complaint came, I presented all of my CYA data to my manager, proving that the accusations were wrong. He couldn't have cared less.
You can watch some videos on it but generally it's not too hard. You buy the circuit board and solder all the parts on according to the instructions. The nixie tubes must be bought separately. They were only ever made in the USSR so most come from Russia. Buy extras because they are so old some fail. Then just power that sucker up. The tubes are quite fiddly and there are different types and sizes so you have to buy the board for the type you are building. The real fun is building the case of your choice.
I MADE a clock with nixie tubes. I gave it a friend who is notoriously difficult to buy for. It was the only thing I'd ever heard him express an interest in that I knew he wouldn't buy for himself. We both talked about how cool it was.
Now it sits on his entertainment center and every time I visit, I'm envious that I don't have one. How stupid is that? I have to get around to building one for myself.
People always act like "how can company A be a thing when it isn't profitable". It isn't about if company A is profitable. It's about whether CEO A is making money. As long as that can happen and, you know, others at the top, company A is right on track.
What really grinds my gears, is for every shitty "feature" like this, for every denial of policy or piece of spyware... someone thought it up.
I wonder does anyone ever, in the meeting where this is decided, bring up what a horrible idea it is? I'm sure that person won't have the best career, but has anyone ever seen someone take the bullet?
It's absolutely terrifying.
