  • Glad to be of help and that you're up and running! :D

  • I had to go to the F-droid setting, click on Include Anti-Features, then enable 'Tethered Network Services' for it to show up in the F-droid search.

  • I love skewmorphism, personally, so I wouldn't mind a return to that paradigm. If it was pixel art skewmorphism, ugh, I'd be in heaven.

  • Hm, it should be. Are you not able to load the page, or does it still show the previous message about it being down for you?

Perhaps deleting the slrpnk.net cache/cookies in your browser might help?

  • The spicy memes must flow!

  • It's possible to export your Subscriptions, Community/instance blocks, and saved posts/comments to an account on a different instance by exporting your account's JSON file, which you can do in your Account Settings page.

You can then import the JSON file in that same area on your alternative backup account, so that your experience is uninterrupted. Personally I would recommend making a backup account on Sopuli.xyz or Lemmy.cafe, they'll give you the most similar vibe due to how their instances are set up.

  • I'm ready.

  • So happy to be home again ^^

  • Oh and as for the local communities you follow, they will have to move as well, so be sure to check if there's a post saying where they'll go at some point.

  • You're welcome ^^

I wish you well finding a new home!

  • No idea, I'm just regurgitating another person's comment who mentioned that thunder was in progress πŸ˜…

  • Lemm.ee is shutting down at the end of this month.

You will need to create a new account on a new instance. You can export your current subscriptions, blocks, and favorited comments and posts by clicking on the Export JSON file in your profile settings page, which you can then use to import at your new instance. You'll need to export that file before the 30th.

To help find a new instance, check out this comment.

  • It's a totally different project with a different codebase, but is Lemmy/activitypub compatible. Currently only one app supports it (interstellar), but more are coming (thunder).

  • After checking just now, it appears that it does! :D

  • Lemmy.world is already the largest instance, recommending it to more people seems like it'd just speedrun burnout like what happened to lemm.ee, not to mention centralization around .world goes against the philosophy of the fediverse.

  • That's a good point. On a similar note, Programming.dev had pretty severe database breakage that took quite some time to fix, but thankfully both instances seem to be healthy and working well nowadays. :)

  • For lemm.ee users who will be migrating to new instances: You can export your subscriptions and blocks to import them to your new instance! You can export that info in your profile settings panel, and import it from the same page on your new instance.

  • General instances:

Sopuli.xyz is a great medium sized general purpose instance. Good admins that update to the latest Lemmy release consistently.

Lemmy.cafe could be another option if you'd prefer a smaller general purpose instance (to help spread the load and prevent the burnout that lemm.ee experienced) that's also run by a solid admin.

    Themed instances:

    Retrolemmy.com - a cool place for retro tech/game enthusiasts

Literature.cafe - For book lovers and readers!

lemmy.dbzer0.com - fantastic instance for Anarchists and those who like to go Yarr! πŸ΄β€β˜ οΈ

Programming.dev - For techies interested in programming and linux

Mander.xyz - Focused on Science and Nature

Lemmy.zip - PC Gaming and Tech focused

You can find more over at Lemmyverse.net

    Piefed:

If you're willing to try an entirely new way to interact with Lemmy and the threadiverse, consider giving Piefed.social a try, a completely independent project from Lemmy. It's still a little behind in some ways, but also has a bunch of features that lemmy doesn't. If you're a community mod looking to migrate, Piefed apparently makes it particularly easy!

  • And Pirates Gold on the Sega Genesis is a good option for any emulation handhelds, basically a pixel art version of the remake.

  • I misunderstood what you were after, since I consider neo-nazi's to be neo-fascists. If you wanted examples of people resisting fascist or tyrannical governments only, there's not many examples of that happening in the US specifically since those movements would be almost immediately and harshly quashed. I don't know if you'd consider the Battle of Athens to count since it was only against a corrupt local town government. And the Battle of Blair Mountain, I assume, doesn't really count either.

For larger scale conflicts, we'd have to go abroad and often farther back in history, which may disqualify it from what you're looking for.
